I think you're my long lost twin.. I'm a 19 year old brown indian girl as well and I feel you honestly. Until today I'm still extremely insecure and don't wear any revealing clothes in fear of people judging my hyperpigmentation. All throughout my school years I dealt with a ton of racism and colorism from peers and family and its still happening today. School was rough being the only brown person there among all light skinned people and I was told being brown was unattractive so many times that I've internalized it. I'm slowly getting better though for sure and have been considering therapy but its not easy gosh.

My mental health is devastated and those dark circles and hyperpigmentation around my mouth makes me not to even look at my face in the mirror. Thanks for the tips you sound as happy as I’ve been since figuring out the right routine 😂 . I FOUND THE SOLUTION FOR MY DRY SKINNNNNNN!!!!! It has changed my LIFE!!! Hours after a shower (even after I’ve applied lotion!) my skin is dry dry. Yes of course you’re supposed to drink a lot water/ hydrate, don’t take super hot showers, exfoliate (I love wet body brushing - this also helps with draining your body’s lymph nodes!). MY GAME CHANGER: after your shower, turn off the water, with your hands; wipe off excess water, apply 2-3 quarter size amount of oil to each part of your body (I use almond oil, I also recommend jojoba, rose-hip, olive, or your fav body oil). I recommend lathering your body until your skin feels slippery oily. THEN PAT yourself dry with your towel (DONT use a WIPING motion because then you’ll wipe off the oil). The oil LOCKS in the moisture on your skin from your shower and your skin soaks it all in!! Once your done your skin has an amazing glow that lasts throughout the day!! It’s been months and my skin is the smoothest softest it’s EVER been and no patchy dry ashy skin for me with this routine!! I like my routines with minimal products lol. But I’m definitely gonna try those lotions, see if I can land a prize with that scent 😂.Hope this helps!! 🧡

I can't tell you how relieved i feel seeing people like me having the same problems or else i thought its me only with severe dark knees, elbows, neck and what not. When you search for home-made treatment for hyperpigmentation there will be light coloured ppl with barely any pigment around the areas i am looking for, its easy to get rid off of that when you're light but in dark skinned ppl it looks almost rich black. I am extremely insecure of all that that i cry whenever i wear a dress or something revealing nor i can wear tank tops due to dark underarms but i want to so i always have to avoid wearing them so that i don't see myself and cry and get upset eventually i barely subscribe any channel related to beauty and vlogs but yours had a very convincing positive vibe which made me.

same!! my mum is pale af and so i grew up never knowing how to appreciate my skin colour. and my hair is also really thick while hers is thin so she would always make it seem like my hair type was something bad and ugly whenever she had to tie up mine

@@xTenshiAi Its REALLY needed for society to grow out of these societal expectations on how a person has to look i mean come on, not everyone has to have pale skin and straight hair; It’s a world with different regions and climates. People really need to get a reality check and jump out of their delusional ideas on how a human has to look.
+ i got thick curly hair too babes, dw we’re elite 💕

Being a dark girl with a fair mother is probably the worst thing in Indian society... Every other person makes you feel like you are a loser cz you failed to retain your mom's beauty.

I am very happy that there are people who talk about these types of problems, and also elbows tend to darken due to rubbing or just because of our skin tone and it is completely normal. I also had this problem but with a moisturizer and glycolic acid it went away, in addition to the fact that glycolic acid has helped me with most of my hyperpigmentation problems all over my body.

Omg this video means so much🥺 I used to be so insecure about my dark elbows esp around lighter skinned peers at school (and even the ones who were darker like me just didn’t have them?!) but now it’s like... who cares lol it’s normal and honestly I find it kind of cute now :) it’s beautiful to see when poc women can embrace their bodies for the beauty that they are

    • @An-kw3ec

I have very pale skin and mine looked yellow-gray, the reason why some people get them is because of the bad habit of laying your weight on them, these habits basically make the skin of your joints thicker ,therefore drier and darker, stopping laying on your elbows and using callus creams helps a lot, mine completely disappeared.

Another hack for locking in moisture after showers - if you use washcloths, you can use them dry off (instead of a towel) before getting out the shower. That way, you’re still damp when you apply your lotion. I discovered this by accident and haven’t looked back. Another tip - get a robe, preferably one that’s not as drying as a towel.
