Just watched your video and this is great information. In your list of items you mentioned a 100 Amp circuit breaker. Is there a particular one that you recommend or can you send a photo of one you use?
Thank you. That's what I was thinking but just wanted the confirmation. Appreciate the information. I hope to have my daughters Mustang running as fast as what you all are.
Hi Alex. I watched your video on RUclips and I also message through RUclips. I have purchased the items that you had mentioned in the video.. 10 AWG silicon wire,Kelly controller, variable gas pedal, 775 recline motors with 19T pinion gear(I have a Mustang), and a key to start the car. I am new to the whole P/W thing and not real good with electrical(but learning). I thought I had everything wired correctly but when I turn the key and press the pedal, I get nothing. I was wondering if you could list every part I would need and you could provide a wire diagram of the wiring system. Do I need relays for this to work? I also want to add a step down convertor for the lights and will be running lithium ion batteries so I will also be using a low voltage cut-off. I would really appreciate your help as I am completely confused. I will also be running 36V. Thank you for your time and help.
@@johnhouse7376 sorry man I didn’t see your message , do you have a key wired up (on/off) switch or atleast the key wire jumpered straight to + , you have to make sure it’s on or you won’t get anything , you also sometimes have to plug the rs302 cable into the controller and program it on your laptop to your voltage settings ,
The Kelly controller does have a “brake” connector off of it but we don’t have brakes on this one currently . You can get resistors and wire them online with the motors so that they motor break when the gas is released
It depends what size lipo you are running, but if using the lipos I would recommend using it for drag racing only , it’s a hit or miss on the motors any more than that, but for just straight line racing , they hold up well on 6-8s
Okay, back again, i was about to place a order on the controller. It's asking for a connector type. Should i just run with the compact? Seem like a lot of connectors vs what you ended up with.
@@Sirfuzzybunz it should be the 2 plug connector and you’ll cut the plug Off , and use the wires, you can shoot me a message on Instagram @Teter_built I can send you a picture of a wiring diagram
I find Powerwheels and Razor stuff all the time on my route. My newest and most challenging find is a Powerwheels Wild Thing. Can you get one, replace all the electronics and make a video so i can copy it? Pretty Please.....with cherries on top? Hahaha! Seriously,im lost on how to get the existing hand controls to work with a adjustable speed controller. Can you offer any advice? I will look through your channel in the meantime. Thanks.
I do have one of those wild things, same condition it doesn’t work lol but we never messed with it, if I get some time this week I’ll play around with it and make a video man!
Are these motors good for long distances? I have a dune racer that I stretched out the frame so I could fit in it I'm 6 foot tall I put my daughter on my lap and we drive it up and down the road so I need something that can move a lot of weight and last a long time.
I have a red corvette i need to change motors for. I was wondering how to know what pinion size I need to buy, I also wanted to know if the speed controller is necessary since it is very pricey
You count the teeth on the precious pinion to tell you where you are at , if you do a first gear delete it’s just a big trial and error with pinion size depending wheel size and weight ESC isn’t necessary, but will make it fast only two ways to make these fast ESC and a heavy duty golf cart solenoid
Hi Is this set up meant also for day to day cruising around neighborhood type of thing or not ? Please elaborate since it’s an esc set up. And where do you wire the 100 amp breaker ? Thank you in advance
@@PeterSiekiera correct, he uses these setups at everyday drivers , just don’t run it to long or you burn the motors up, you have to let it cool down a little between riding, The 100amp breaker is wired into the main power wire
in terms of reliability.. my daughter rips her 69 bronco all around the front and back yard, and then around our neighborhood. If I convert to this set up will she still have the reliability to chill and cruise around and then when we turn it up?
You should open a shop i would pay to have one of these made for me as I'm not so hands on like yourself and there isn't anyone doing it
Shoot me a message on instagram man @Teter_built I can take care of you
How much would it cost to

This is the one I used!

Realistically any one will work though , and your local parts store should have them in stock

Do you have a tutorial how you built your fast kids light to start racing??
Are you running brakes? Looks like the Kelly controller doesn't support motor breaking
The Kelly controller does have a “brake” connector off of it but we don’t have brakes on this one currently . You can get resistors and wire them online with the motors so that they motor break when the gas is released
Can you tell me how many volts you are putting to those redline motors? Are you able to run them successfully on 46v
We are running 7S Lipo, about 31 volts, we have pushed them on 8S, and 40v lithium but they do not like anymore than that
@@TrevorsFastLifecan I run 2 Dewalt flexvolt batteries in series/parallel to make 40v on andmark dual motors?
@@tombomombodombo yes and no, you can but the motors won’t last to long like that

Select 48v 200amp option and use the first option for the connector ! It should be a 2 plug connector
I am seeing the same thing. @mrmckenzie2403. What did you end up doing

@@TrevorsFastLife Also, does the circuit breaker make the 30amp fuze that comes with the battery converter unecessary?
@@jdcravings91 yeah you can do away with that 30 amp
And just run a 100 amp circuit breaker

Hey I need to remove my pin 10 tooth off the 550 to install on a 775 motor how donu do that ?
550 pinion shaft is a different size than a 775 , the shaft on the 775 is 5mm, you’ll need to order 32 pitch 5mm 10tooth pinion

Is that a first gear delete on the lambo?
Yes!
What wires are you jumping to the motor?
If you only use 1 switch will you still have reverse?
@@justinturbo4323 yes!
where do you get the motors and how do you find the right gear. I couldn't find out how to match a new motor to the gear box
We use vex robotic 775 motors you can find them online , the gear boxes have numbers labeled on the back that tell you the correct pinion size

@@TrevorsFastLife Can you do this same set up with drill batteries instead of 6s batteries? What are the pros and cons?
How many batteries do you run in your car
We run 7s-8s , the motors stay together forever on 7s , they don’t last as long on 8s but you squeeze a few more 1/10ths out
