I cannot count how many times I've heard a married person give very terrible advice. A married person who doesn't know what they're doing will not have any advice to give. What it takes mostly to give good advice is more of sense. I think that good advice is recognisable by anybody who has a working brain. Whether or not they're experienced isn't/shouldn't be the problem. Paul in the bible whose numerous advice on marriage forms the bedrock of an ideal Christian marriage in Christianity since time immemorial was never married. Jesus was never married too. Priests, just like the commenter above already pointed out are unmarried yet equipped with the right knowledge about marriage. Unmarried people came from families too, they have married parents, siblings, friends etc. They're capable of learning from other people's experiences.

I don't think many mothers of the old days were happy, though. Many of them were depressed. They talked about it in salons and cried to God. They didn't have the financial capacity to leave. Who would have paid their kids' school fees? They couldn't return back home as that was considered a taboo. Society shamed them regardless of whether it was their fault or not. Their strategy for survival was to endure till their children were strong enough to stand on their own two feet thus the Omugwo escape route. At least the new age women are letting men know their unhappy in real time. At end of the day the best thing is to have a happy and Godly home. Every couple should guard their home and zip up.
