There is something I find extremely appealing about the idea of "wizards" from different universes reaching out to each other while meditating to share wisdom and information, or just enjoy each other's company. Yeah, I'm definitely going to use that for my next fantasy novel.
While I like the concept of one of them being a jerk, it is just completely unfitting for Dumbledore, who was extremely polite and kind to everyone (even his enemies)
Technically he did! He called Yoda an orc/hobbit, and in _Lord of the Rings_ the words "orc" and "goblin" are used fairly interchangeably. For example, Thorin's sword in _The Hobbit,_ "Orc-rist," is translated into English as "Goblin-cleaver"
