With STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI only 2 days away I've decided to take a few minutes away from freaking out to make this video, debunking the Rey Skywalker and Rey Solo theories once and for all. Apparently there's still lots of people who believe these theories and The Film Theorists just uploaded a video hypothesising that Rey's father is Han Solo and her mother is Leia, so I compiled all of the pretty conclusive evidence that they are in no way related. (And if they are, Lucasfilm has basically lied to us in my opinion). I hope you enjoy the video!

I've been saying this from the beginning! THANK YOU VINCENT! I'm so tired of people saying she is a Skywalker/Solo. But then turning around to complain that TFA was too similar to A New Hope. Hence why she should NOT be a Skywalker/Solo. Gosh, and no she isn't a Kenobi either, although I did temporarily like that idea for a moment last year. But the more I thought of it, the more I realized that Rey HAS to be exactly who she said she was: No one. It would give her character so much more originality and room to develop her character.
Also for those saying she needs to be a Skywalker because Star Wars has always been about the Skywalker family, why have you forgotten Kylo Ren/Ben Solo? It has been said that Kylo and Rey serve less as antagonist vs. protagonist, and MORE as two halves of the main protagonist. He is your main NEW Skywalker, ladies and gents. His character is SOOOOO HUGE AND IMPORTANT!! I haven't seen TLJ yet, but I know that his character is gonna blow us away.

Just watched the force awakens again. the way she navigated the millennium falcon through the exhaust of a star destroyer.. cmon why would anyone putt that in there ?
Are you saying that because she did that, she must be a Solo? Because I'm sure there are other explanations. As for why anyone would put that in there, I can't say for sure. She grew up on a planet as a scavenger, working for parts so she could survive. She's dreamed of her parents coming back for her on a ship of some sort. I would even go as far to say she's dreamed of being a pilot herself for years. If Plutt is correct when he said the Falcon was his, maybe because Rey was seemingly left in the hands of Plutt himself, she often worked on the Falcon for him? The possibilities could be endless. But in my opinion, that observation is interesting, but not the most important thing. Maybe we'll see a little bit more of her childhood to figure out why she seems to know how to navigate in such a manner

You got to watch it all again, there's a bunch of hints. And this video rule 1. is Rey is related to know one. rule 2 Rey has telepathic powers with Kylo, she must be force strong or related, but somewhere down the chain lol force strong is ultimately related, just like all the families in Games of Thrones, Harry Potter, oh and....... Star Wars....

The only good thing about Matpat's theory is that it maybe helps to explain away some of Rey's Mary-Sue-ness... Good pilot bc of Han, force sensitive and amazingly fast development of force abilities (within one day) bc of Leia/Luke. I'm so glad they're not related because I think Reylo NEEDS to happen! The only thing that sucks about her being a nobody is that then she definitely is a huuuuuge Mary sue.

Rey's story is a reverse play on Anakin's story in terms of where and what she comes from. She is the "orphan" in this new trilogy that was "created" by the force to counter the imbalance created by Ben going to the dark side. She is the ying to his yang just as Anakin was the darkness to Padme's light. Anakin was taken in by the Jedi and fell to the dark side, Rey is taken in by the Skywalker's and rises to the light. She is just what she said right at the beginning in one of the first trailers, "I'm no one."
Padme was just a good and courageous person who tried to save her children from their evil father.She was in no way comparable to Rey who is supposedly the embodiment of the light side of the force .

I want Rey to be strong and independent, but loving someone is just a foot note on who they are, but as I've said you don't have to agree with me. I love Rey and I'm super excited to see the last Jedi, and I am just hoping that what ever path is taken is well done
Oh man I've seen a video last night that really had convincing evidence Rey and Kylo are actually just Anakin and Padme reincarnated. The scene with Leia and Rey hugging makes very much sense if this is the case, how Leia describes she only knew her mother through feelings and image flashes and how Luke doesn't know her because he never knew Padme so thus the script describing the motherly embrace is referring to Leia feeling her mother in that hug rather than the other way around. Kylo isn't just a Skywalker - he is THE Skywalker aka Anakin. So thus the red string isn't just referring to lovers but the red string that connects everything. Maz describes seeing the same people in different eyes. Since Anakin is the chosen one it would sort of be fitting to conclude the trilogy with Kylo and Rey being together as Anakin and Padme should have been the first time around.

People are in denial still, apparently. There's already been interviews in the past with the cast strongly hinting that her parents' identity aren't really important and that her ancestors aren't in any of the earlier trilogies.

Just came fresh out from the cinema. All I can say is some I things I expected to happen and some things caught me by surprise despite all the theorist videos online. Beautiful scenerys and some new force powers. I left with a good feeling watching The Last Jedi. Definitely worth watching.

Whether or not Rey is truly a nobody, she still is not a Skywalker or a Solo because she can't be related to Kylo. They have some strange sexual tension going on in both movies, they'd never add chemistry like that if those two were related.

I like the two ideas that either she's from nobodies and so that proves anyone can be strong in the force kinda like broom kid at the end of the Last Jedi, or she's a Palpatine, making it again, Skywalker vs. Palpatine, but reversed.
My theory: Rey is a living weapon.
Using technology similar to the Jango Fett clones, the First Order experimented with creating new life from pieces of DNA. While they preferred strong force lineages like the Skywalkers, Palpatines, Kenobis, and even Windus, they included other useful DNA from the likes of Han Solo and Boba Fett. Their goal was simple, create a warrior so powerful in the force, they could kill Luke Skywalker and lead Stormtroopers against the Resistance. Rey was not the first. Luke fought against their first weapon, and just barely won. "I've seen this raw strength before, it didn't scare me then. It does now." While working on the second weapon, Rey, the scientists discover Snoke's plan for her, and they're horrified. So they raise Rey in secret, telling Snoke that the experiment failed. But the First Order was on to them, so they had no choice but to hide Rey on Jakku. Not long later, the First Order finds them, and kills them all. That's why Rey's "family" are never coming back.
Even if the new trilogy is still about the Skywalkers, why is it so hard for anyone to accept the fact that Rey is her own character and has no relations to any established characters from the other trilogies? People wanna make connections where there aren't any, refusing to acknowledge the fact that a new character has been brought in. Hell, people are saying Finn is Mace Windu's son without evidence to back it up. Seems like a lot of people lack common sense these days.
I personally don't have a problem with it and I agree with what you are saying in many regards (especially with the Palpatine and Iden origins, ugh). But when Lucas made the saga, it 'was' about the Skywalkers. The writers teased the fans of Rey's origins instead of coming out with it right away which resulted in much disappointment and confusion to many fans with her origins revealed. Even though we still have a Skywalker heir in these movies, I don't believe this saga is about the Skywalkers anymore considering Kylo went from a conflicted character with questionable motivations (and an outcome) to a simple, mustache-twirling villain by the end of TLJ. If that's the direction Disney wants to go, that's up to them, but there will be always someone that will be displeased with the route they are going.

I have come to the conclusion that Rey will most likely end up with no one if she is to become a true Jedi. Jedi are defenders against those who choose to use the force for darkness. They are teachers to pass down their wisdom of the Force to others. So there is not going to be some new order of the Force where dark and light join together in some harmony. Rey will not have more force babies with Kylo, Poe, or Finn. She will just be the Jedi of this trilogy. Her first test to becoming a Jedi came in that throne room. Rey was tempted by Kylo Ren to form an alliance and possibly an attachment with him but she succeeded that test to become the last Jedi. She turned him down and choose her path. She is not a no body, like Kylo told her. She is now a Jedi.
The Force is just the Force and there are still Jedi. I will just go with what Yoda has told us about the Force and the dark side. Yoda is basically George Lucas.

There's not going to be some stupid grey Jedi where they can be selfish, fear, hate, and murder people. The dark side of the Force is not some super power with force lightning, it's the corruption of it. That's why it destroys your soul that leads to suffering. You think Kylo Ren is happy during the last 2 movies? He is an emotional wreck trying to prove himself to daddy Snoke, and now he is the Supreme Leader of the First Order. The big bad villain, now we have to see how that turns out for him. Let's see if the dark side of the force allows him a nice happy end.
We also see the Jedi stray from not being calm and use the Force for war and victory. The Clone Wars showed us how the Jedi Order lost their way. They became generals and killers themselves. Obi-Wan created Darth Vader an even more dangerous villain when he cut him down. Luke was the only one who at the end acted like a true Jedi. He did not kill his father, he did not fight the Emperor, with his true Jedi teachings he inspired his father to find the goodness in him and end the reign of the Emperor.
About attachments, George Lucas said a Jedi can love someone but they can't possess them. Meaning no husbands, wives, or children. That's why Rey will never be a Kenobi. What has happened when the Skywalkers went to the path of attachments, it has led to death and suffering, ie Anakin and Ben Solo. Anakin's love for Padme had help destroy peace in the galaxy, and destroy the Jedi Order. Leia and Han's love has led to the fall of Ben Solo and he too has repeated history by destroying peace in the galaxy and Luke's new Jedi Order.
So the Jedi are right about attachments. Jedi are the "super heroes" of Star Wars. The defenders against those who choose to use the force for evil and dark purposes. The Jedi are teachers to pass on their wisdom. They have a great responsibility and truly can't form any personal attachments.

I got a feeling that Kylo Ren knew about the girl, cause didnt you watch the part when Ren flipped out on his own man, force pulled him and said "WHAT GIRL?" in an angry voice. That's the only thing in the movie that showed that Ren knew something about this girl. All the other characters didnt know who she was, Luke may know her cause his face expression didnt show that he didnt know her but not for certain till The Last Jedi comes out and I already knew that Rey wasn't related to the Skywalkers.
I think Rey’s a palpatine. In the trailers, snoke says “Fulfill your destiny” multiple times. A classic line from palpatine himself. Also, in the trailer if showed rey being tortured by snoke and I theorize that he’s talking to Rey. Also, Rey is very naturally force sensitive. Plus the mountain of evidence provided by Vince’s video on “Rey is a palpatine”.

I just saw the movie and; Rey is NOT a Skywalker, her parents sold her for drinking money, there's a lot of reylo scenes, Kylo kills Snoke, Luke dies (I still don't understand really how it happened), Finn and Rose share a kiss. I'm so sorry if I ruined the movie for someone, but you were warned.
She could be a clone of either skywalkers arm/hand that none of the characters know about
Rey's parents could be Darman Skirata, formally known as RC-1136during service to the Galactic Republic, later as IC-1136 after its reorganization into the Galactic Empire, and a young Jedi lady Etain Tur-Mukan in canon.
Instead of Clone Wars Jedi General Etain Tur-Mukan having a son like in legends, suppose in canon, supposed it was a girl, Vincent Vendetta?

Well if rey was a palpatine it would explain her crazy power level and her pull to the dark side, and it explains why luke has only seen her power once before.
to all those people on this page who hate how Luke was portrayed in this film missed the point. A lot of you didn't like how Luke was shown as someone capable of killing his nephew while that nephew slept, have forgotten that If Paplatine is to be believed in the Revenge of the Sith is that Anakin was a construct made by Palpatine manipulating the Midi-chlorians with dark emotions to be utilized for the dark side. If Anakin has it so does Luke.and Ben Solo. The Skywalker bloodline was meant to serve the darkside as a powerful weapon by Palpatine. The only reason why Luke was presented as a hero was because the Jedi ( Yoda, Jinn and Kenobi) were able to deflect that intent for a while anyway. This was done by removing the fraternal twins from play by Yoda and Kenobi and Organa. In fact when Luke meets Yoda in the Empire Strikes Back, Luke has a vision of himself facing Vader in the cave and defeats Vader only to discover he had taken Vaders place (great foreshadowng also of who Vader turns out to be as well). Rewatch the Return of the Jedi as well. When Palpatine says to Luke you were meant to replace your father and serve me. No.... the entire Skywalker line were to be instruments of Darkness. It was proven with Kylo. and Luke realized it when he saw the look in Bens young eyes when Ben woke to see his mad uncle above him about to slaughter him. Luke planned to slaughter him because Bens Darkness was even more than Lukes, just as Lukes was supposed to be more dark than Anakin. That is why Luke went into exile and became a bitter person.. he saw his (dark) destiny in spite of his doing his best to not fulfill it. So to keep Snoke from picking up where Palpatine left off Luke had to allow himself to fade away into the force(if that's indeed what he did). In the end he managed to redeem himself for his near dark deed regarding Kylo
