wow at first i thought he was singing about a lover, then their daughter, then maybe his mom? but in the end they're singing about music! its incredible, you gotta love Andrea!
In Italian the song gave me goose bumps.. But with the English translation It is so pure and so beautiful that i've got tears in my eyes.. For the makers of this video and the translation, thank you so much for this beautiful experience.
This song is the most beautiful song I have ever heard. And now that I know what they were talking about, It makes me cry tears of joy and tears of pain that I and most people will never know a love like that.
The lyrics of this song is really touching. Most people can’t understand what music means to musicians. The modulation in the song is also fabulous. It modulates from E major to F sharp major and to G Major. It finally ends in G Major, creating a tonal conflict/discrepancy that is never resolved.
I've listened to this song here in America since it was released on CD. I never knew the lyrics but I speculated it was a song about music. And if ever there was a perfect male and female Duo, then this is it. There are many beautiful duos but this one is simply the Best. The Italian language sounds like music itself. And I never knew the lyrics until now, so thank you very much. What a beautiful song!!!❤
I have never before commented on any of the thousands of RUclips videos I've listened to--until now. Thank you! Time To Say Goodbye and Nessun Dorma are encoded into the DNA of my life.
I forgot all about love for a while but your music warms my heart to open up and get loved again. You bring passion and real love with your music. God bless you. Keep singing people are listening.
this song made me cry when i first heard it when i was just 8 or 9, and know i still do, even do i never knew the meaning of the lyrics, thats the beauty of it, you dont need to understand the lyrics, you can feel it :)
Thank you for the Translation Its a wonderful song! I being a writer as well COMPLETELY Understand where he is comming from ,These singers are very talented!
I know very little of Italian, but, for what it's worth, I thought it was a great translation! Thank you for doing this, I am learning the song and wanted to know what it meant. I agree with your translation because I was imagining a woman, but at some parts that I came to, it seemed strange to think of it that way with the little bit of Italian I understand. The music being the thing he lives for really made the song come together!
Thanks, for both the song and explanation! I just happen to be learning Italian (from scratch) and so this was good for understanding the song, and checking my grammar!
Thank you so much for your translations of this amazing artist!! I have adored his music for so long but now I can understand what he is actually singing instead of picking out odd words! I am a beginner with Italian but Im trying to learn more every day. God Bless you x
I had never heard this song, until Il Volo came into my life a couple of months ago! After finding a video of then - 14 yo Gianluca Ginoble singing it in 2012, I fell in love with it! Now I can't get that song out of my mind and had to learn the translation. As it turns out, it seems to tell the story of Gianluca's life performing with the Italian group Il Volo. Those three gifted young men, with their love of opera (as well as popular songs) want to use their music to share Bel Canto with the world, and they're doing a good job of it!
Wuaw, I listened this song long time ago and me me felt transported to heaven. Today , many, many years later makes me feel the same way. Thank you "The NewCitizen" for publishing such a great song.
Thanks for explaining this is about music that does not betray! Another STUNNING song by Bocelli and Marta Sanchez puts the cherry on top. THANKS so much for the translation.
Thanks for such a wonderful song. I actually learned to sing it through reading the lyrics over and over again. With this interpretation atleast I kno what I'm saying. :) Beautiful just.....Beautiful!!!
OMG... This shook me to the soul :O... I always admire Andrea Bocelli for his incredible voice and talent, I shed a lil tear, but a tear afterall... I usually only cry when listening to gospels but this one was great... God Blessed this guy with such a voice and showed the world that everyone is worth gold... to too thought Like many it was about a person... Music is from angels and Andrea Ur one of great angels ;) @TheNewCitizen... Dude! thank you so much, you open the eyes of many...Keep it up
Hello TheNewCitizen! Thank you for your efforts. I really appreciate it. I like more the dual lunguage style from your videos. Unfortunately its not in this lovely song :( I like to see the italian version and try to understand it a bit intuitively and see if I am right :). Neverthelesss keep up with your work. Because of songs like this one I want to learn italian, It's a really beautiful language. Cheers
What I love most about this video (thank you for it, by the way! :) is that as a Mexican American I had always heard this song in Spanish. It wasn't very long before that I had figured out that "ella" feminine pronoun in Spanish was "music" so, I finally understood the song and loved it even more for it! Oh, right about the video: how it's a more direct translation of the Italian version of course, I'm mentally translating the Spanish version and it's all just jumbled in my head and I love it!Cx
well...after reading the translation i have to say that its meaning was not the one in my mind but it is still so great i love this song so much....i love Italy too and i wish i can visit it someday...greetings from Egypt :)
Io vivo Per lei.
So it's "I live for 'her'", 'her' being the music? Yeah 'cause the makes more sense if a woman was singing this as well as a man.I heard this in Spanish from this CD I bought in Puerto Rico and in any form this song is just purely beautiful.Well done!!
Thanks Andrea and Giorgia both voice are great ❤️wonderful songs, but this full of emotions for me is referred to lover . best choice for me my momma 💋💋
Well done T! I really enjoyed your interpretation and I would take it a step further, since LEI is basically gender neutral, I'd leave it to the performer's choice or listener's whether they are addressing Music or their lover. Ambiguity indeed.
''Like a Stereo in the bedroom'' "she is a muse that invite us" (the music) i dont understand why the people dontt use this song for the wedding dance. this fits perfect
@Mitskuuu Hard to explain: there isn't correspondence in english. L'HO is abbreviation for LO HO(male) or LA HO(female). In this case is LA, cause it refers to "music" (female word:no neutrals in Italian). LA=THE(her), HO=I HAVE. Using HAVE before another verb, make it become past ("passato prossimo" tense). [ho scritto="I have written"=I wrote] Using the form L'HO you put object and subject before the verb. [l'ho incontrata="the(her) I have met"=I met her] [l'ho incontrato= I met him]
for me it does, in comparison with other girls her voice is sooo rich, it's deep and light and passionate ans serious, i don't know i like concretly her performance!=)it's up to every one's taste...and also she sounds very italian and i like it)))
@greilly1172 guys guys lei means her and refer to: " the music" Both singers live for the music They said it at the end of the song " Vivo per Lei la musica"
thenewcitizen: "goodmorning, how are you?- buongiorno, come sta lei?" is correct but it is only used when referring to a person who does not know. if one refers to a person who knows that time is used: "buongiorno come stai?"
Hello "TheNewCitizen" could you please tell me who wrote the lyrics to this beautiful song. I adore this song and thank you for clarifying the meaning behind it, but i had actually gathered that it was about the 'music' by the lyrics, but wonderful to know a little bit more too ;) Oh, and i so want to visit Italy
The original meaning of this song is " I live for the music " In English, the word "music " askes for the pronoum "it", in all latin-rooted languages as french, portuguese, italian, spanish, etc the word "music" is a female name. The correct translation for this song should be " I live for it " However, here, the song has been translated as " her " instead of " it" in order to render a better meaning.
the song says "I live for her" and "her" is refered to the music.."lei" can mean you in the spoken language when you use a formal language with an older person for example..excuse me for my terrible english.. I hope you understood :P
wow at first i thought he was singing about a lover, then their daughter, then maybe his mom? but in the end they're singing about music! its incredible, you gotta love Andrea!
I do!
💖💖
Exactly sometimes the person you love can be like a beautiful sonnet..
In Italian the song gave me goose bumps.. But with the English translation It is so pure and so beautiful that i've got tears in my eyes.. For the makers of this video and the translation, thank you so much for this beautiful experience.
This song is the most beautiful song I have ever heard. And now that I know what they were talking about, It makes me cry tears of joy and tears of pain that I and most people will never know a love like that.
its not about love, its about music.very clever sonh.
You read the lyrics and couldn't figure out that the song is about music being a muse and living for it?
The lyrics of this song is really touching. Most people can’t understand what music means to musicians. The modulation in the song is also fabulous. It modulates from E major to F sharp major and to G Major. It finally ends in G Major, creating a tonal conflict/discrepancy that is never resolved.
Agree. I’ve tried to describe the intense, complete fusion I feel with beautiful music while I hear it. That it penetrates & run
Oops. I got cut off! …runs inside me. It’s coming from outside, but Is palpable as it surges through me. Most people don’t get it.🥹. 7/25/22
How can you dislike this song man! Seriously? And it`s a metalhead talking!!!! La musica, la nostra vita, grazie ragazzi.
I've listened to this song here in America since it was released on CD. I never knew the lyrics but I speculated it was a song about music. And if ever there was a perfect male and female Duo, then this is it. There are many beautiful duos but this one is simply the Best. The Italian language sounds like music itself. I love this song and I also love the Spanish version.
Bueno, it's an amazing song, x

Siete sempre nel mio cuore.
A very rare, beautifull song.
The female singer is great.
Thank you for the translation.Truly this song touches ones heart. Simply beautiful.
Thanks for this translation. Before seeing this, I thought it was them singing to/for each other. This makes it very clear. It's the music.

Bellissima canzone bravo Bocelli magnifica canzone 👍 Yopppppp ypoppp yppppp
Beautiful. Music is love
@Mitskuuu
I'm italian.
"L'ho" means "La ho". It is a contraction like "It's, He's, I've etc..."
@Psytranz1 They are both referring to the Music (that is feminine in Italian)
thenewcitizen: "goodmorning, how are you?- buongiorno, come sta lei?" is correct but it is only used when referring to a person who does not know. if one refers to a person who knows that time is used: "buongiorno come stai?"

Interesting!
@miestang maybe "con te partirò" by Bocelli as well,i dont know if it could suit a wedding, but who knows...
Who’s here during quarantine🙋🏽♂️
@EvaRoseRead it's a love music dedicated to the music: "la musica" in Italian is feminine.
the song says "I live for her" and "her" is refered to the music.."lei" can mean you in the spoken language when you use a formal language with an older person for example..excuse me for my terrible english.. I hope you understood :P
@EvaRoseRead then we agree... fabulous!
