I've seen both versions multiple times in person, and while I like them both, I think I prefer the carbon fiber version. It's not much different from the factory one.
@@rsximus My opinion is it's very much like the stock one it's only just slightly more aggressive. The factory spoiler is highly functional and an amazing spoiler this one just takes it to the next level. A lot of design was put into this

I have owned and driven three Type R cars, seeing them daily and living with them. I don't agree with your statement at all. Both cars are amazing. I've owned a 2018, 2020, and 2023 model, totaling 4.6 years of ownership. Both wings are very well designed, but the carbon versions take it up a notch. I have a video where the Honda engineers discuss the differences between the spoiler and the wing and how each affects the car's performance.
To answer your question, yes. There are 2 different OE wing designs. The gloss black wing is much subdued when compared to the factory option carbon wing, which adds a more aggressive gurney flap and larger more pronounced endplates.
I haven't seen a painted wing and person on the FL5 but have seen photos and I think it looks good. I would do that but I'm going for the carbon fiber wing from Honda. I love how aggressive it looks from the rear.
It's all about what you're after. If you crave that raw, F1 car sensation, then the carbon fiber wing is your ticket. Its job? To grip the road tighter, adding downforce when you're gunning for speed, keeping the rear steady during those straight-line sprints, and subtly managing airflow as you hit those corners. Peek underneath, and you'll find the hidden gems: vortex generators, the secret sauce of aerodynamics. This piece isn't just for show-it's pure function. Any designer worth their salt wouldn't dream of ditching these wings, even for everyday driving. ruclips.net/video/3DIs1G4F_ek/видео.html @5min Speak about Carbon Wing

Civic Type R and its wing are producing 30 kg (66 pounds) of downforce, which plants the rear end, and increases cornering and straight-line stability, according to Rob Keough, senior product planner for the Type R. This is for the fk8. Haven't heard numbers on fl5 yet.

Factory one looks much more cohesive, the CF one looks Rice AF

The stock one looks so much cleaner. The carbon fiber one looks as bad as the fart cans from the early 2000s.

Ok. But is it test for aero? Cfd? Wind tunnel? That will wack out your car if not on right.

Right now I'm rocking the factory one !! Thinking about ordering the Carbon Fiber one though.
Carbon is still Factory
You are correct the boost blue is sporting A OEM factory carbon fiber wing !!

On the stock CW FL5 wing is there a wing extension?
This car is stock height for the wing.
