I caught a bad case of the flu during the flu season here in Arizona and I could barely catch my breath, I ended up in the emergency room at our local hospital where I waited for 16 hours to be seen! I would have waited longer but I stood up to get a drink of water and blacked out from lack of oxygen, I woke up in the back with elevendyhundred wires poked into me and the doctor walked in and handed me a script for an inhaler and some antibiotics and sent me home, in total he stayed to speak to me for less than 3 minutes!
I feel your pain and totally understand your frustration of the medical field, I would only go back to the hospital now if I had my liver in a jar.

Oh Bev you poor girl. I sure hope it eases up. Fibro and RA pain is so rough. Yes I agree sometimes those of us who have these conditions have a hell of a pain tolerance level and distinguishing how badly hurt we are at times is tough. Praying for you.

ER in Ontario is no better. I was 2-3 times every year for 8 yrs at the ER, for unremitting upper right stabbing abdominal pain. Not to mention the frequent episodes at home. Each and every time I told them I believed it was my gallbladder as 10 yrs. prior I was told that I had grit in my common bile duct and if I developed pain it needed to come out. Instead they gave me morphine, took an ultrasound, insisted that they didn't see anything. My G.P. took ultrasounds, I asked for referrals but even the GI specialists insisted there was nothing. I even asked for a contrast X-ray but that was denied. So after 8 yrs.(on at least 5 of those yrs.I had the same chief of the ER attend me), they finally found something on the ultrasound and I was referred to surgery. The surgeon assessed my file and said that this was my gallbladder and it looks like this issue had been going on a long time. If I wasn't in so much pain I would've done something very violent to something or someone. Needless to say that they finally took out a very inflamed, infected, enlarged gallstone filled gallbladder. The gallbladder was so enlarged that it had swollen to lie well below the liver down into the right side of my abdomen. This 8 yr. delay has caused me so many health issues and almost 3 yrs. post surgery I'm still dealing with issues. I'm so very glad that you didn't break anything, and with time you'll feel a little better. Thanks once again in describing chronic pain sufferers issues and dilemmas. Today I have a yellow day.

I have a ton of issues myself. Arthritis , Fibromyalgia , Asthma, COPD . Um high blood pressure, severe fatigue. The list could go on but hearing someone my own age going through the hardest of it all being the fibro to that understands the pain. Mine is mostly in my rib cage and in my right shoulder blade. I have a 20 yr old back injury that pretty much ended the life I had made for myself so I had to start all over. Having to sell off all my horses almost killed me. I started Teaching myself things I can do sitting down has been my only saving Grace. I couldn't work so I had to find an outlet that was more than staring at t.v. all day. I just love your videos. I wanna start on a towel band set from one of your videos. I taught myself to sew and to crochet, a little knitting. I didn't mean to get in this deep on the comment section but here is what I came to say, I just love your videos, your good people. I completely understand your struggles and your still doing what you can and not just forgetting to live while your going through these struggles, and for one I Respect that... God Bless You and Yours and Thank you for showing and sharing your talents with me. Prayers for your pain to subside.

You are SO right! I have had chronic pain for 39 years. It's ALL I know. I have no recall of how it was to live without pain of some sort. I am SO sorry you fell again, sweetheart. Get out the trusty heating pad and relax as much as possible. I can see the pain and fogginess in your face. REST! REST! REST! I'm not supposed to leave the house without my phone either....I do forget from time to time though. What a disaster that hospital is! I thought ours in the states could be less than wonderful. WOW! That's really reprehensible that they have no one to help patients get into the hospital. We have a bunch of volunteers to help. They are by and large elderly who want to help, and what a blessing they are.

Oh Geeze! You take care. Yeah the hospital emergency is not a good place to be. My hubby had to go to emergency yesterday as he had an ulnar nerve operation in his elbow on June 2 and although the stitches dissolved a few weeks back, he woke up yesterday morning and the whole scar opened right up and he was bleeding. He was in an out of there in an hour. They used some kind of glue to seal up the scar and taped it shut and gave him a prescription for antibiotics. Thank god we live one block away from the hospital also. So if there was a long wait we could come home easily, like a 3 minute walk, but I guess they did not want him bleeding all over the place.

Oh, how I feel your pain! I suffer from FM too and I'm afraid to take anything but Tylenol for the pain since I'm allergic to all the drugs you referred to. This is currently Oct 2019 but I had a disastrous fall in Sept 2019 when walking my dog around the neighborhood. My left foot hit a raised portion of a sidewalk and I fell flat on my face. I broke my nose, lost four front teeth (one was driven into my upper lip), and severely injured my left knee. At first, I just laid there in shock and then began assessing my injuries. My hands and both wrists ended up black with bruising but, thankfully, I didn't break a bone. I'm still suffering from headaches in the sinus area. I'm no stranger to pain either but enough is enough. God bless you and your sweet man.

So sorry to hear about your ER experience. I can truly sympathize as two weeks ago, I had to go to my local ER at 1 a.m. for what I thought was indigestion. After nearly 14 HOURS of waiting to be placed in an examination room, seeing the ER doctor, blood tests and scans, I was admitted to the hospital for emergency gall bladder surgery. The surgery was scheduled on Thursday, June 29 at 7:30 a.m. The surgeon said he was releasing me to go home on Saturday, July 1, but the hospital doctor wanted to release me on Friday, June 30, stating some happy crap about recuperating better at home when I knew full well that it was the insurance company who did not want to pay for an extra day's stay. I was able to stay for that extra day only because of the fact that I lived alone and would not have anyone to help me at home as well as transporting me home until Saturday. Between the hospitals and the insurance companies, they couldn't give a diddlysquat about our health and well-being. Health care not much better here in the good old USA. Hope you are feeling better daily. Hugs to you, Bev. Hang in there.

Tomorrow I make the six hour trip to Stanford Hospital where they double and triple appts. I'm rehearsing in my head my dialogue with the check in nurse. Last time they said they were running 45 minutes late and I said I'll wait one hour then leaving! (Not my personality but come on) Of course I got right in and sat in the room for another hour😡. So tomorrow when they tell me there's a wait my response is Ive been waiting over a year (They decided to close the office on 4/7 when I had that appt for over a year)I had been waiting to see the Dr. since March 2016! I may walk out...There are no Drs. locally that can help me...We may have pain but we are Warriors!!! ❤️

I am so sorry about your fall, you probably need to check to makes sure nothing is broken. I took a fall about 5 years ago and I suffer from fibromyalgia as well as many other chronic pain diseases. I didn't go to the ER at first either, I walked on my ankle for about 5 days and that includes going to work every day. Finally I went to the orthopedic dr and I had broken my ankle in two place. Just like you mentioned we always have pain and being in so much pain everyday we don't often realize when we have a severe injury. Awesome video👍

Thankfully I haven't had a tumble like yours. As you were describing it I was cringing! Rest 'til you're better. Do as you must because sometimes we have to do for ourselves, and not let our pride get us down. Thank your for the videos, and letting all of us living with Fibromyalgia see that there is some one else out there living with the same issues. I have fibromyalgia sue I was 23. By the time I was 33, I had ESRD and have been on dialysis for about 13 years. The minute I tell them what I’m allergic to, and use “alternative “ means of pain relief, they turn me off, and move on. Most of the time I don’t go, because it takes 5 hours to give me a shot of something to make me sleep a waste of time money and energy.

The last time I had major bruising on the side of my head for no reason. My eye was slighly damaged when they removed the tumor. The hospital was more concerned with my messed up eye than the unexplained bruising.... God forbid you need an MRI here, especially on your head because it takes 6-9 months to get one!

I think that the health system is like that most all places. Here in Alabama where I live they are also lke what you explained. If they know about your meds and what ever else they precieve you as a drug seeker! I will not go to the ER in the town I live in. Because they treat someone like me as a drugie. Or just ignore me all together.
I truely pray you didn't hurt any part of yourself.

Mrs. V. I am So sorry you fell 😢. I am praying for you. Since last year my world has been upside down medically since a once in a life time trip I am unable to hold food I throw up often I had my gallbladder removed near 2 years ago Florida health care sucks theres so hung up on body size they keep telling me to lose more weight and I have not by choice it's because my body won't hold on to it in the process of trying to figure this out with my GI system I discovered my spine is completely deteriorating one of my disks in my thoracic spine is herniated into my spinal cord And there nothing they can do also L3 to S1 are herniated and quite a few other spinal conditions going on so with the spine and Gi issues alls I know is pain right now and no one is willing to help. To know That I am not alone helps and I give you a great big hugs for sharing your life with us thank you Mrs. V.

Happy birthday Nan.🎂🎉🎈Sorry I missed it. Now Bev, no more trips to the barn without your walker. Fashion a way to attach your phone to the walker. If anybody can figure out a way to do it, you can. Just suppose Nan hadn't been there. I hate to think what could have happened. I wish I lived closer so I could help you. I'd love to try milking the goats! Please be careful and here's wishing you a speedy recovery

I am a RN in the US and things are no better here. Sounds like you got the standard care or no care as it was. You are so right about chronic pain suffers. When I was working in the recovery room we had an emergency surgery for a ruptured appendix/sepsis. The woman had been seen in the ER 3x that week. Because oh her flat affect and pain med history the nurses had actually charted "drug seeking behaviors". This poor woman just barely escaped death due to this kind of bias. Needless to say I had a private conversation with her distraught husband.

So sorry, will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Isn't it sad how ER's treat you when you give them the information they ask for and then judge you before they even lay a finger on you? Been there, done that....after my last er visit I will have to be half dead before I go back. Love ya Mrs. V :)

My biggest issue in the summer is air conditioning. I don't have it in my camper so the humidity kills me, but I come into my friends house and I freeze to death. I ache from the cold (pain increases by 200%). Humidity is better than freezing lol. Be careful and follow the rules by using your Walker!!!
