Each song on this album was inspired by a character. You should go and check those songs out as well to better understand these characters in the video.
Lunaticraccoon , good stuff. May I ask what happened between the boy and the woman at the diner? Was that her son that could have been abducted? I've only watched "Life Itself" and "Youth" and I don't know how to tie the two together.
@@Kreutz I don't know if the exact story has been explained other than yes it's sang from a parent to a child. Some of my fondest memories are of going to see this concert in Philadelphia. Absolutely outstanding and to this day this is still one of you guys' best albums. Keep making music, you are insanely talented.
I'm gonna guess the story behind the video: the boy is the son of the waitress. The lady in white took the boy from his adoptive parents and was bringing him to the waitress, perhaps to blackmail the waitress somehow. The lady in white may even be the adoptive mother, though it's unlikely considering he decided to run away from her. We can tell that the boy is the waitress's child because, after the lady in white contacts her about the boy, she is severely shocked and feels her belly as if to say she was pregnant. As for the gas man and his companion, I would assume that they reclaim children for people, likely children presumed kidnapped. I would assume this because of the man's colorful uniform and the companion's kind demeanor that would be comforting to children. I'd also assume this because of the picture of the boy in their car. With that picture, I'd guess that, with my context, the boy's adoptive parents or father are trying to reclaim the boy after the lady in white took him.
Each song on this album was inspired by a character. The woman in white is Mrs Moore from the song "Poplar St", the guy driving the car is Chuck from "Life itself", the woman in the dinery and the kid are from "Youth" and the woman in pink is from "Mama's Gun".
I don’t even understand why Heat Waves is such a Radio hit when this song was so much better.
This song is soooo good!
"I look fantastic" is my favorite part of the whole video.
i still cherish this album so dearly. it was my first physical vinyl record ever and i love it more than anything.
