My main reason l fasted was to lose weight. Lost 65lbs in one year. In the meantime my cholesterol, blood sugar and blood pressure are in the green... according to my doctor. Also l am no longer pre diabetic, because of fasting. I no longer count calories, though l do eat whole foods. Thanks to fasting.
Could you perhaps talk about antibiotics and fasting. Is there any information on how intermittent fasting potentially could reduce all the bad side effects after taking a course of antibiotics ? I maybe it could Possibly speed up the recovery process? Thank you!! Dominykas
The small problem with this video which made me instantly think of *Tonic* ! Having run 9 x full marathons starting when I reached the age of 55 I share feelings with some of the ideas
I personally get by far the most benefits from a 3 day fast. Check with Doc first. A 5 day Longo fast mimicking diet has similar results but is safer for the heart. Feel amazing after it, renewed. I also mange on average a 9 hour eating window. I find I get the same benefits as a 3 day fast from a 2 day one, if I do a 2-3 hour cycle ride (with no food) before it to burn up all the glycogen.
@@firstnamelastname2669 agreed, but does not "IF" tech mean shorter fasts? The definitions are a hard to fully be sure of? IF seems to mean alternate-day fasting, periodic fasting such as the 5:2 diet, and daily time-restricted eating (TRE)?]
I have a question around the clean fast and our sense of smell. I've been IFing for 17 weeks now, down 28 pounds, so I'm a believer. Wfohen I'm in my fasting state and I smell food cooking I usually get hunger pains. Is there a chance that can mess up my clean fast?
I have to take medication 3 times a day & I have to take them with or soon after food. So I’m not sure how I could fit this in. Having said that, if i were to get healthier I may not need the medication eventually 🤷♀️
It's not a good idea for people who suffer from painful shingles or herpes simplex or complex to fast as the body starts to build the amino acid arginine, which triggers attacks . Can you suggest another route for these sufferers? Thank you .
I’ve read some research here in the UK that intermittent fasting isn’t suitable for menopausal woman. All the existing research about intermittent fasting was done on male subjects so it’s not exactly accurate for menopausal woman? What are your thoughts on this?
In my experience if I avoid sugary foods or starchy carbs I don't get hungry and don't feel any need to snack. Just eat two meals a day. Very easy. By giving it a fancy name this podcast overdramatises it.
Do not sign up for the Zoe program. There is nothing 'personalised' about it. The advice is eat lots of vegetables and legumes! It's a glorified food diary, lots of articles and short videos freely available only. Don't waste your money.
There's difference that every individual lives different lifestyles. If you sit on couch and do nothing, of course you can do 20 hours without food. Now try to work psychical work and do 20 hour fasts, even if it's possible, because it's indeed possible I tried. You would be sluggish as hell
It’s this kind of comment that alienates people who are considering a change. I find not judging others by my own standards or preferences is more effective.

I love Gin Stephens. I have been Intermittent Fasting for 18 months and feel fantastic and down to healthy weight. 🎉
Did I miss the food that makes fasting easier or was the thumbnail clickbait?
By eating microbes apparently 🙄
Whatever food it is, you aren’t allowed to eat it or you aren’t fasting
@@andrewpaulhart It's not that simple, the amount of fat and carbs you eat right before or after a fast makes a huge difference.
Yep, clickbait.
Your little videos are very helpful in nudging us in the right direction. Cheers!
Little?
Gut microbiome bacteria also have a circadian rhythm, timed on our eating and their food availability That makes perfect sense! Thank you.

@@anir8023 yes at home. When eating out l may not always have that option
Despite the title card, no food was mentioned.
Thanks for the clip
When will Zoe app be available in Australia?

Longo et al have much published research, can't see how you can cover this subject without any discussion of that.

Look at Dr Mindy Pelz. She covers pre and post menopausal women.
With all respesct, please explain to us "simple" as a doctor and instructor and teacher...
So what was the answer? Which food makes fasting easier?

The original linked video is 12 months old.
Embarrassingly bad editing.

Agreed!
Thanks for the heads-up 👍
You don't have to build up to it. Don't over-dramatize 20 consecutive hours without food. Find your backbone.
😂

I agree. It is pathetic how most people are horrified at the thought of being hungry for even a little while.

Says something about how spoilt people are that they are horrified at being hungry. Just accept it. It’s not hard

I think it's the tone, not the voice, she sounds pretentious. Also the weird fake little smile after she's done with a sentence doesn't help lol.
