Personally I think it’s pronounced ‘tomato’. That’s how I’ve been raised. On the other hand, I hear a lot of people say ‘tomato’ too. Doesn’t bother me though.
Same thing with the pronunciation of ‘potato’. Funny thing is that it’s the other way around on this one. Raised with ‘potato’ while people outside of my network mostly say ‘potato’.
