so helpful! as a street skater, like you mentioned, i always tried to pop into this.. then i watched others and was like oh i powerslide into it.. but the way you described it as a kickturn over the coping just made it click. with some practice i know i can do these now! your content is always great man, and you're a good and funny dude.
I was just watching one of your drywall videos and saw you skating and realized I had seen your skate tutorials before. Hell of a skater and a carpenter! Your videos have been super helpful. Keep doing what your doing!
I haven't really skated hard or tried to progressing a certain area for years , I have a decent amount of skill left over from my younger years to keep up with the younger pack of skaters even though skateboarding itself has progressed since 2007 oh, but I think I found the inspiration watching this channel, I always appreciated the physics behind skateboarding and watching you examine all the Small details about board design and combinations of skateboard products to make a complete. You really put it together well and it's drawn my interest back 2 progression. Rather than riding the same old stuff I've been on for 15 years I finally went out and hand-picked my deck trucks wheels and bearings for a modern-day setup given my new weight and size.I think I'm going to start actually skating again instead of just maintaining. I'm not going back to handrails or stairs but I'll probably start playing with manual pads more. Thank you so much for the inspiration. Your videos are affecting people even other older skaters.
Oh,god! Thank you. I've been trying backtail for hlaf an year, and I can't even backside tail stall on a curb. I've been skating for 3 years, so I don't really consider myself as a beginner, but back tail seems like a trick I will never be able to learn. I was having so much anxiety and stress learning this trick
Ben Degros 😂 Classic. Wear some pads mate. I started skating 18 months ago as a 43 year old so I could show my daughter how to ride. She’s hardly ridden her board and I’ve never got off mine. But you don’t bounce like when you are young and aches and pains take longer to present and then leave when you’re older. Life is too short to be injured esp with responsibilities of work, husband and father. Plus you’ll get way more confidence knowing you’re not going to be banging yourself around as much. PS Your tutes (esp transition) are very informative and have been really helpful for my understanding and subsequent progress. Thanks 🙏
Hello from quebec Ben great video as always ,i just find funny u say its not a olie like on flat with a ledge cause i use to trick my mind pretending im on flat approaching a ledge ,i take lot of angle,i do a real olie get over the copping and smack it down...if u can do it front u can do it back....start taking height on disaster..they re similar but easier...
I do these once and a while; I've never been the best at backside, so they don't feel as satisfying as I'd like. Maybe that means I need more practice with them. I do really like how Nollie front 180s feel into a back tail though. Maybe I'll try to get back tail stalls better today at the park.
i love doing this trick, wish i would get the slide down one day. i always slip out and then still go in kind a like a bs handout, which is cool, too, but i'd like to learn them right... anyways, thx ben
Nice vid. I couldn’t help but notice but in the beginning during the tutorial a lot of the backside tail stalls, was more like a 5-0 to backside tail stain. But in your line where you barely get your tail on it was solid. I only say this because a lot of times I do the same.
Hi Ben:) a recommendation from youtube for a Ben Degros tuto, wonderful gift !! Did not watch already, but sure that it will be great as usual. Thank you for your deep implication !!!
I know It has literally nothing to do with the video, but will you be doing a comparison in between the 99a and the 101a spitfire formula fours? I took a pretty heavy slam the other day due to the slickness of the 101s on ashpalt, and Im considering buying a set of the 99a, but they're really pricey where I live, and I really dont want to risk it.
to BS is a lot less scary because im able to see the ramp at all times. FS makes me lose sight of the direction ill be going after the trick which throws me off. also ive always had problems turning FS. ive never been able to make it go as fluid as BS
Not sure. Too many variables. Also, I'm off the light trucks train. When you have the right deck for the trucks it really doesn't matter anymore. Venture highs work good for shorter wheelbases and flatter decks whether they are light or not IMO.
Big thumbs up for that manly roar while doing the early grab at 5:28
Lol sounds like worm Jerry from rick and morty
I knew someone would appreciate that🙌
@@bendegros haha I always have a soft spot for early grabs!
Peter Griffin grab ahahahaaaa
@@dirtyrotten2648 yes!

The transition skillz are strong with this one. "The chivalrous Knight will not woo the lady tonight." So dope brudda 😂
❤🙌

This mini ramp seems to be so perfectly smooth. If I ever go to Canada one day, I wanna skate it for sure!!!!
Felipe di Oliveira do you know where it is?

Spent a couple of hours trying these a few weeks ago. Really satisfying when you finally get it
After 3 days of trying these I finally landed a few today. They’re pretty fun🙂

The BS tail stall is a good looking trick. In a bowl I always think the BS tail slide around the corner of the bowl looks so fun. Someday.
I am going to work on the slide soon. I'm finally getting cozy enough with the stall. Life goals.
@@bendegros outstanding, looking forward to it.
Thats actually pretty hard and very stylish. I only know like 2-3 people that can do it personally.
@@komoonkh agree very stylish. When I was skating in Korea the kids were crushing the bowl.
So good! Such a nice stall, will definitely have to give this a try!
Hey Ben,
I don’t know why you don’t skate more transition. You are smooth, consistent and very competent. I really enjoy watching you skate bowls.
👍👊
I have been slowly getting more into it again. I don't like the slams is why.
Ben Degros 😂

Canada must be a marvelous place. I've never seen such a nice skate park that was so empty. Even on a school day, the parks are packed here

I wanna get this one. Might try on a smaller mini of course lol

Good tutorial. I found it very helpfull to do backside pivots to tail as a training step
I just recently started doing these a lot too. Can't wait until I'll be able to slide them. All I got is a miniramp here but it works!
🙂 I will be working on the slide soon!
Thanks for the inspiration to learn these!
Hahaha that line was actually pretty sick man
moving the foot back did it for me as well thanks
thanks for being an inspiration ben!

you should’ve done them on the small concrete copping mini ramp you showed long time ago
what the hell i just came back from the park after i did it for the first time and you uploaded this yesterday
10 seconds in... getting a like for skating transition.
:)
@@bendegros ... Always good video's though and always like them Ben. Would give this one a double like if I could.
hey thanks!
I really like that trick... never done one but I like it.

I will practice this sometime hopefully soon👍
Confidens! Tú amas el patinaje
Ah yes, the park that I fractured my ribcage on. Good thing the hospital is right next to it 😂
:(

Honestly, they are both slick. That's just the F4.
Holy shit, that smith at the end
I’ve always been good at the mini ramp but bad at spines. Could you do a spine skating how to??
Do a disaster tutorial
Mubarak Ahmat ya
Ben Racicot there is one already

Great vid ben
Thank you Bryan!!
“That sorta counts” 😂

Mini logo deck review!
U loving a lot that kape deck don’t you bro 🔥❤️
It's a good deck.
Legit man! Btw what skatepark is this??Looks amazing
Ladner
I’ll try this on a quarter pipe to force me to drop in finally.
I think it should be easy but when I try them it never works out. Gonna try again with new front foot position.
to BS is a lot less scary because im able to see the ramp at all times. FS makes me lose sight of the direction ill be going after the trick which throws me off. also ive always had problems turning FS. ive never been able to make it go as fluid as BS
Can you try some 99a Sml wheels please :)
Thanks you
Welcomes you!
hahaha
Pop is good though?!
This is like the only trick I can still do. Both way with crail grab also haha. Trick to the bs crail is to get low
Ben whats the lightest best truck set up? Im looking at venture 5.9 hi hollow. Good choice?
Lethal Injection260 tensor mags are pretty light. Thunder Hollow lights are a bit heavier but more orthodox.
Not sure. Too many variables. Also, I'm off the light trucks train. When you have the right deck for the trucks it really doesn't matter anymore. Venture highs work good for shorter wheelbases and flatter decks whether they are light or not IMO.
Can you do blunt to fakies Ben? I always get scared when i try to pop back in and jump off the board
Ya same i just pop into rock and then drop back in and sometimes ill grab the nose when doing it...its fun af
I wanna try blunt stall finger flip to rock that would be sick
I can't :( or I won't.
Ben Degros gotcha, it’s just one of those tricks that I have to learn, kinda like a front noseblunt for you
Camp Fire I hope if I attempt it 1000 times, then I’ll be brave enough to stick one. So far I haven’t though 🤔
Super canadian intro there eh? Honestly never picked up on any accent till this intro lol
Tre flip trick tip
What is the deck you're skating here?
marque moreau It‘s a deck from Kape Skateboards
Do a Baker review.
Can you do a review on ace trucks?
he did. Check his videos.
Satanicuslupis yes but he did the review on the old ace trucks
7:06 wtf?? Should be wearing a helmet after this move🤣
5:18 ahh ahhhhhahhhhh ahhhhhahhhhh ahhhhhahhhhh
Dont force it
Practice it on banks yo. The slide is fkd
Why do you hate school?
You need to revert that shit!
