    Thumbnails always attract This is just general and plain talk. This would not benefit the students who are international. Please consider uploading the information, which is really helpful. Gre requirements really depend on the department, even though some universities say they have waived the gre.

    Although many universities have waived gre requirements but you should definitely give a try to gre before applying for any high to mid ranked colleges as it really boosts the CV and now that covid is recessing and most of selected applicants at MIT, Caltech, GT, UCSD have high gre scores...
    Although it's not necessary I'm just asking to give a try if possible 💯

    • @vinayangara6896
      @vinayangara6896 2 года назад

      Actually uni's like MIT, Caltech have fully waived them off for even fall 2023 and won't consider gre for evaluation. There are few universities which keep gre optional, these universities might consider these GRE scores, however even this might not be true. Although it also depends on which department you're applying it to. I'm mainly talking about the mechanical dept.

      @@vinayangara6896 yeah could be... But as more and more students are now accessible to gre and admitted students are mostly top scorers in gre

    • @FaizanShaikh-ih3uu
      @FaizanShaikh-ih3uu 2 года назад

      @@vinayangara6896 the thing is it's better to be prepared... Attempt if possible as if it comes down to two students with relatively similar application value then gre could be considered as a deciding factor, also the university clearly mentions the more competitive exams you appear the better

    • @vinayangara6896
      @vinayangara6896 2 года назад +1

      @@FaizanShaikh-ih3uu what you say makes sense in most of the scenarios. But if a university specifically mentions that they wouldn't consider GRE exam for evaluating then sending scores to that University might not hold any value and it's best left if you mention it in your CV. You can spend the money sending the scores to other universities instead of the one which doesn't evaluate you based on it

    UC San Diego GRE requirement is based on Individual Department for example the department of Public Health PhD yet requires a GRE score. It’s better to check every department rather than going some random data list.

    What next ? Waive of academic grades too ? Just pay fees and enroll ..lol GRE provided a universal/common test to judge a candidates suitability as an ADDITION to their grades, college work etc.. It was not the ONLY criteria so not sure why they doing away with it.

    Mam I have a doubt. Will the "gre optional" option work in a situation where student A and student B are of same level and aiming for the same University but one of them has got a GRE score ?

    • @FaizanShaikh-ih3uu
