@Mahesh S, Shri Jamadar is not at all leftist or rightist. He belongs to purely Basava tatva Lingayat dharma. He is the one who took lead role to build Kudalasangama below back water if Alamatti dam & the big task was given to him by then Chief minister Shri J H Patel. Like Jain dharma, Sikh dharma Lingayat dharma is also not a hindu dharma from last 12th century. In Lingayat dharma we do not go to any temple to do pooja, we do not need any purohit between we & God. Instead we do believe in ishtalinga pooja which we wear always on our chest. This is how we Lingayat are different from hindus & this is taught by lord Basaveshwara. Shivalinga is stavara linga which ppl worship in temple and to do this pooja ppl need to go to temple & beg purohitashahi poojari to do pooja on behalf them, since general ppl are not allowed inside garbha gudi. Which we call it as kandachara, poojari cheating ppl.
Basavanna's preached against this culture to hv ishta linga on your hand, chest & no need to go to temple to beg in purohitashahi poojari. Hence we r different from vaidik Hindu purohitashahi, since we Lingayat do not want any Broker between god & us.

when this is correct why Vaidik purohitashahi hindus are not shutting Tirrupati timmappa temple, shiradi sai temple, Ayyodya Rama temple........ bcoz these Vaidik purohitashahi hindus do not want to loose their income of livelihood which comes from cheating kandachara and hence they do not want to follow Lord Basavanna's ishta linga bcoz it won't earn any livelihood for them

As a Brahmin whose life long ideal has been Basavanna it amuses me to no end that the some of the so called followers of Basavanna, who fought to eliminate caste based social system from Hinduism and unite Hindus as one group, want to identify his group as a separate religion. There can not be a more insulting thing than this to Basavanna. The people clamoring for a separate religion status are not true believers of Basavanna's teachings and so are not Lingayats. These people are wedded to dogmas and rituals and argue that because these cultural traits are different, their religion is different. The modern world does not care a dime about rituals (of any religion) but cares only about the substance (the core philosophy or spirituality).

Basavanna never accepted vedas. Then how can say that he was the one who tried to unite hinduism. Lingayath is not a part of hinduism. Lingyath came as alternative for hinduism like buddhism jainism.
@@jnanachandra2333 I don't think you have read the Vedas. I have, to a certain extent. Vedas are not coded religious books like Bible or Quran. Vedas are debates, questions and answers and more questions and so on (a never ending process). Basavanna did not reject Vedas. He rejected the meaningless and exploitative rituals developed and imposed by exploitative people who sought to give credence to them in the name of Vedas. From this perspective Buddhism, Jainism etc are all offshoots of the Vedic tradition of analysis which involves open debates and accepting whatever you think is the truth. Basavanna studied Vedas for 12 years. He worshipped Shiva who as a concept of God, originates in Vedas . In any case as members of modern society we should try to come up with ways to reduce the number of divisions in the name of God. Basavanna's thoughts are what every Hindu (every human indeed) needs to follow and prosper.

Basavanna himself being Hindu shaiva beahmin who rejected it & ran away from house. The main reason is he was against purohitashahi vaidik brahmin vedas, mantras which are all blind belief including same caste marriage. In his vachana there is nothing is reproduced any vedas. Basically he formed Anubhava Mantapa inviting all ill treated class of society to share their thoughts, experiences regarding I'll treatment from vaidik purohitashahi, faced in day to day life in the name of god for discussion and encouraged them all to reproduce their ill treatment experiences and teasing such treatment in the name of god & right new vedas in the form of vachanas how to reject purohitashahi & wrote alternative practice of humanity without any discrimination within the section if society. Thus he gave alternative like ishta linga pooja, saying god is in your heart/chest & not in temples. Also wrote in Vachana how to reject cheating purohitashahi practice of Vaidik Hindu mentioning no need to go to temple, to purohit
As a Brahmin you should read vachanas , spread this peaceful religion . Give up your caste
Reason for separate religion is to claim minority Basavanna, Akka Mahadevi worshiped Channa mallikarjuna, Shiva the Hindhu god.

Hope before talking on Basavanna
one should be aware of what is Basava Tatva Lingayat dharma.
Dharma is different from Caste
Basavanaa preaches not to go to temple, not to follow purohitshahi mantra pooja, Do only ishta linga pooja since god is there in your heart.
It is only Lingayat dharma where all caste like SC, ST, OBC are there in Lingayat community now also.
Hinduism is not dharma, it is way of life as certified by supreeme court. Only for the sake of vote bank, few are tempting people in the name of hindu
I don't agree that lingayat are hard working.. except agriculture..there is no other hard work they believe in ..they are not in army. They are not hard core film making..they are not in hotel industry..they don't serve as nurses..
