let's all give a thought to those who can totally see the insides of bodies no problem but get freaked out by fingers.
I know right, so confused on how that is possible lol
Weirdos I tell ya
Well, hands are quite personal, whereas everything that's inside is quite the opposite. I think some might just "feel" the hand, in some sort of empathic reflex ? Kind of a corpse's face, I reckon it would be hard to look at for a lot of people

Clinically found less carpal tunnel with patients w/o palmaris longus and also more TFFC damage, one theory is that have less ability to resist passive extension during activities such as push up and bench press causing more compression on the posterior lateral cartilage during repeated loading. Just a clinical anecdote related to anatomy.

Treat them kindly! I had to have mpfl reconstruction in my knee because mine are non functional at holding my kneecaps in place. Very easy to tear/stretch out!
Your hands would be more massive and so would your feet we would also be less good long distant running since muscles have a high demand for energy. a large portion of the body of birds are just for intake of oxygen to feed their muscles for flight and the rest of the body evolved to be less massive

People getting upset at fingertips and Im over here like THATS AN ENTIRE HUMAN ARM
Same here •-• bruh
From Your inner Fish by Neil Shubin: (dictated) I did my initial dissections made my cuts and learn the anatomy of most of the major organs. It was all very mechanical detached and scientific. This comfortable illusion was rudely shattered when I uncovered the hand. as I unwrapped the gauze from the fingers as I saw the joints fingertips and fingernails for the first time I uncovered emotions that have been concealed during the previous few weeks this was no doll or manikin; this had once been a living person who would use that hand to carry and caress. suddenly this mechanical exercise to section became deeply and emotionally personal.
@@Jono4174 I think it would almost be a better learning tool that way. Wisdom teeth are actually useful it just depends on your cultural diet. For example people from cultures where they eat foods that require a lot of effort to chew, develop a wider jaw so they have more room for wisdom teeth. But people from other cultures like the first world who have a lot of processed foods doesn't require so much effort to chew because it's softer, end up with smaller jaws thus no room for wisdom teeth.

I love healthy arguments.. When ppl remain respectful...
I have a question: Why was this muscle even ever present in our forearms? What did it our ancestors use it for that we are not using it for today? Why it came to be and why it faded away?
I think I remember reading that it helps with grasping durring climbing
Ditto, if you make the statement that through evolution our bodies weed out things that are not nessecery to our current given environment. I would love to know the reasons behind why we did need it and why we no longer need it.
i don't surely know but , if monkeys have this muscle, then it may be a sign of evolution.
My guess is it was used by our common ancestors to grip and not slip all the way off a tree branch. To hold up entire ape-like bodies on one hand while they check out things with their other hand. Not to need both hands to hang on. I figure otherwise fingers might bend backwards and slip off. Maybe we don't need to pull up hundreds of pounds on the regular.
@@ginnyjollykidd I would be curious to see the data for people who are in environments like climbing rocks or linemen to see if that muscle is more prominent among the better climbers. I always try to find something interesting to teach or show them & I always say " now your a bit smarter or you can put it in your book of useless information". 😂🤣. They always tell me they have nothing in their books that they are smarter 😉😊
