Thanks for this very helpful information about your find, which I have recorded as EMC 2023.0282. It is possible to see from the style of the king's portrait that this is Aethelred II Last Small Cross type.

inside of a saxon penny - my only saxon was an aethelred crux and i had the inside of that and also managed to find a bit of the outer too...

It`s a portuguese India Dom Luís l 1861-1889. It was minted in Calcuta.
