Earth to Hewey the Packrat, can you hear us? Dylan is doing your job. You owe him a nice 54-inch model. Or at least some ink. Once upon a time I had a laserJet 4V that was unstoppable. Now it takes a community to figure out how to change paper. :) Thank you, Dylan.
I was wondering how you configure/set-up to print a large wall map. Say 8 feet by 20 feet. You have one map file and with the idea to have it print 10, 2X8 feet strips and then edge match them together. Thoughts?
It should just be 4 2x8 foot strips if I read that right. That should work, but you would have to get rid of all of the margins so the print goes all the way to the edge. That sounds like it would be tough to format but I think it can be done. Good luck!
Hello Dylan, I have windows 11 and I've searched everywhere in settings, AND in the printing settings also and I can't find the size I want or how to customize the size of my preference. the biggest option that was available was "24 X "24, How do I work it out if I want "24 X "40?
Did you have to download the HP software on your computer first or was it just able to find the printer? The manual gets confusing on the step by step of connecting the printer to wifi then setting up your PC, but you were just able to find the printer right away on your PC.
I got a T600 printer (I think it's from same family) It refused to work on Windows 7/10/11 via a USB connection. I couldn't find suitable drivers or information on HP's site. I spent hrs trying to get it working. Then I decided to try my Ipad, and downloaded HP's smart app. The app. couldn't find the printer, and despite spending an age trawling thru HP help lines I wasn't able to get it to work. I then contacted HP who tried to help me out. After spending an hour on the phone and the rep. taking control of my pc it wasn't possible to get it going. I thought the bad old days of battling with trying to add hardware to Windows were long gone. Nope - worse then ever. I'm trowing in the towel.. I'm hoping my supplier will take it back.
This could be a dumb question, but I'm unfamiliar with these large format printers. The product description says the roll feeder takes "up to a 24" roll." Do they make 20" rolls? I'd like to use this for 20" x 30" posters if possible, in addition to 24" x 36" posters which it looks like this can do. Thanks for any advice!
Thanks for posting. Very well made video. How is it going with the plotter after a year? Are you happy with it? Happy with the cost of ink cartridges and printheads? Thanks
I'm happy with it overall. It's still going strong and it has been the most reliable printer I've ever bought to be honest. The ink cartridge cost is astronomical but there's not much you can do about that unfortunately.
@@Dylan_Marshall is there a waste ink maintenance box in there that can be removed and replaced? I see that Amazon sells this for 699 or 729 with an optional two-year care pack. Would you say that’s worth it?
Nice video. How much is it costing you per print in terms of ink consumption or how many full color prints are you able to get out of full ink cartridges? Trying to figure out the per print cost before buying using your link. Thanks
I have printed about a dozen 18x24" posters so far and I haven't noticed any drop in ink level yet. I will keep you posted once I print more but I have read some reviews online that say the initial cartridges last a pretty long time. Hope that helps!
Your dry cheekiness was humorous. Please do the auto sheet feed installation next!

very useful and entertaining tutorial... i chuckled real good when those cartridges fell out of your hand.
Thank you, your explanation turned out to be much better than those that came with the printer.👍
Glad I could help!
Thanks for your great instructions..I had trouble with the ink cartridges if there is an issue take it all the way out and then re-insert.
You're very smart to look up that 24x 18 .
Great instructions!

Awesome. Thank you for the video.
Hello, I saw that you put an A4 sheet, can it be printed double-sided?
Thank you for making this!

Thanks! Surveyor that needs arch D maps here.
i noticed that you weren't using the hp app to print since you had your laptop...which print service did you use to print?
Can I print on banner/ vinyl material? Have you tried that?
Thank you for this!

I didn't download any software, it just found the printer
Hi! Did you try custom print on single sheet? I hope I can print 24" on 36" or 24" x 48" on single sheet... Thank you 👍
Yes, you should be able to print any size as long as the shortest dimension is 24" or less.
I keep getting uneven borders whenever I am attempting to print in A2 , how would I resolve this - I use a Mac
Good Video, So if possible Feed the printer with sheet size 24"x34"?
I'm looking for this information too. I have 17"x22" sheets i need to feed...
It has an adjustable feed mechanism and according to the printer manual you can feed any paper size, even 8.5"x11"
It's useful for photostudio?

To my knowledge they don't make 20" rolls compatible with this printer. You would probably have to print on a 24" roll and then cut the 4" off.
Dylan, did you try use canvas on this printer? I know the HP do not recommend, but did you try by any chance ?
I have never tried printing on canvas with this printer.

Thank you!!
You're welcome!
Thank you
Can this print smaller paper sizes or does it only print 24 inch wide
You can print smaller paper sizes as well. Even 8.5" x 11"
have you ever print any photos? If, so how was the quality ?
I just print posters with it. The quality is very good.
Have you tried printing photos or full color prints? IF yes, how did it do?
Can this print on vinyl materials?
I have not tried printing on vinyl.
I would gladly sponsor the roll for you to try it and give an updated video please!
How can I print bigger than 4 ft height?
Yes. As far as I'm aware the only limit on height is the length of the roll
Thank you!!
Thank you!
You're welcome!
