Dan's breakdowns are now apart of my pre-fight hype rituals.
Same here
Yea, same, this channel is gonna blow up.
Same mate, yeah
If they are "apart" then that means they are not "a part" of your rituals. "Apart" means not included.
There's always one smartarse in the group.
I feel like Dan could do a breakdown of someone just walking, "he is not simply walking, he's putting the left foot in front of the other foot, beautiful masterpiece"
Look at that amazing balance and foot control, we are looking at a special athlete here!
The way he plants the very tip of his heel before leaning onto the ball of his foot makes for a very clean walking stride
You can observe the knee bending before the feet can move forward...this is such a legendary trajectory walk people. I mean ive seen people walk before but this is a different walking technique.
That’s the difference between a very high level Walker!
Lol
The breakdowns of Izzy's fights get me the most excited because his style is technical and fun to watch. 💯

Dan’s breakdowns are second to none, it’s a pleasure to watch. Especially how he addresses the small nuances of mma.
Most of these fighters are NOT thinking of the things Dan Hardy credits them for. Most fighters just fight without a setup plan(s) and even fewer actually exploit discovered weaknesses. This is mostly bullshit. They just wing it most of the time and these fight analyzers make more out of these tapes than are really there.
@@cuttheknot4781 who cares lol we all enjoy his breakdowns
@@cuttheknot4781 This is so untrue. Of course fightest at the highest levels are going to have a game plan and exploit the opponents tendencies. What would be the point in feinting if not to draw out attacks/defensive flaws from the opponent
Considering Dan was actually fighting in these situations, one would think he might know what's actually happening.
Man makes a simple adjustment to keep balance
Dan - "did you see how he shifted his weight, he did this in order to counter the other fighters strike but it is a faint in order to fake the double leg coming from dana white after he finds out the other fighter was selling streams"

This breakdown made me a little nervous for Jan and rightly so. I then rewatched Jan vs Reyes and feel alot better.
Statistics doesn't include one thing - monster progress of Jan in last fights. He is on totally different level than year, two ago.
@@kamilpustula2454 the distance control lack of biting on faints and patience are 3 of the main things I saw that are positive for Jan comming into the Izzy fight.

@@laoch5658 who does he coach?
GOOD ANALYSTS DONT USUALLY MAKE GOOD COACHES
Dan is 100% the best MMA analyst
If jan wins I really wanna see a breakdown on how his striking is also a bad match up for adesanya. Something I took from the Reyes fight is that Jan knew Reyes was a good and powerful striker and he was letting Reyes come to him Izzy will have to come forward at one point. In my opinion it’s a good fight and I think it’s a harder fight for Izzy than people realize.
But Reyes is realms away from Adesanya, not comparable. I think Jan will get teased in like they all do. Nobody wants to be the next Romero
@@nisnga147 I mean skill level obviously, but what I mean is that Jan knew what Reyes was capable of due to the Jones fight and I’m sure Jan isn’t a dumb fighter he’ll be very aware of what adesanya can do.
And I mean I honestly don’t have a biased opinion on the Izzy vs Yoel fight I look at it as the Francis vs Lewis fight. Both were to scared to pull the trigger both were counter strikers and Yoel never really used his wrestling so you can’t expect crazy wrestling from him.
Izzy will just stand at range and kick the shit out of jans leg picking up the rounds until Jan comes forward and gets countered
@@gyros29 unfortunately I don’t think it’ll be that simple Jan is definitely not a brad tavernas lmao

20:00 That level of precision is just scary
Just morphing Whitaker's face over and over, in awe of the accuracy 😳
It's really crazy how he set it up like a trap, he knew if Whitaker threw that 1 2 in that stance, in the pocket, that he would fall for it, it's like hiding a counter behind a counter.
I mean he is stood like a 1 ft away lol
Scary I just said
That is some ridiculous flexibility too

Damn Dan...your like a surgeon using his fine skills to dissect these fighters and their skills...well done my man! Really enjoy your content.
Something worth mentioning is that Adesanya weighs 195 lbs in fight shape and said that he’s not putting on any weight for this fight. So chances are, he’ll probably weigh in at around 200 lbs and weigh the same amount in the cage.
Whereas Jan Blachowicz has the build of a heavyweight and easily weighs over 220 lbs in the cage. So there’s most likely going to be a 20 lb size disparity between them when they fight.
There’s levels to this game but weight classes also exist for a reason. This fight is gonna be super interesting.
fun fact:
yoel romero is a natural 220-230 pounder
paulo costa is a natural 230-240 pounder
izzy is a natural cruiserweight( look it up )which means he walks around at 198 - 205+ pounds
jan got beat by a guy who actually started out as a welterweight-middleweight before jumping into lhw i believe his name was thiago santos
thiago santos was a standby substitute for brad tavares when he fought against izzy back in 2018
yes there are levels and nuances to everything
physicality striking volume landing strength isn’t everything and skill finesse footwork positioning angulation ring craft spatial awareness and brainpower wins fights too
@@liquorboots Those are their walk around weights but in the cage they’re about 210 lbs. Jan Blachowicz is defo near the 225 mark in the cage when you consider that Jones was 223 in the octagon against Gus.
The weight class someone moved up from is often irrelevant because even Rumble was a welterweight. All you can look at is what they weigh on fight night because Thiago Santos was a completely standard sized LHW when he fought Jan.
Everything else I agree on. Izzy has to be perfect for whole fight to not get ran over, and he can.
@@najib9093 i thought the lhw weight limit is 187 - 205 lbs ?
are jones/gus and blachowicz those in octagon weights by way of their overall muscle weight ?
@@liquorboots Yeah those are the limits for the weigh ins but there’s no limit for how much they can weigh inside the octagon.
After making weight, fighters always rehydrate so that all the weight they cut (by dehydrating themselves) gets put back on by the time they fight.
Izzy is too smart and skilled. That's the main problem really.
Adesanya breaks Robb Withaker's face.

I wish someone would talk about me like Dan talks about Izzy...
Become great at something & someone will. You're welcome!!
You're breakdowns are world class! I think Izzy is going to be too fast for Jan and have a higher fight IQ. Izzy's ability to land solid and accurate counter punches even when his posture appears to be compromised is amazing. Izzy's head movement (reminds me of Ali), footwork and evasive defense makes him very difficult to hit clean as Whittaker found out. Your assessment of Jan's "reckless" entries is spot on. Jan tends to rush in with his shots, enter on a straight line, over extends, has marginal footwork and leaves himself open to counters . In additional to Izzy'z leg kicking and feinting game,I think Izzy will make him pay for his "reckless" entries and walk him onto shot after shot until he puts him away. Or Izzy will likely freeze him like he did to Costa and pick him apart. Not saying Jan's a pushover aferall he is the champion for a reason. I just think Izzy's footwork and takedown defense will challenge Jan's takedowns and Jan is not likely to win a striking battle with Izzy.
WELL SAID
Well you got all that wrong 🤣
What a great analysis , I’m surprised other advanced MMA professionals don’t provide this in depth analysis . Dan is the best in the mma analysis game rn imo
« Costa is subjectively powerful » that made me chuckle
Imagine they’re in the clinch and Jan pulls out the flying triangle.
Keep dreaming
Jan won't pull shit like that. He doesn't like fighting form his back. He only goes for it if he takes the back of his opponent in the process. Most of his losses were due to mediocre conditioning at the time and getting controlled on the ground after he got tired.
Ouch!! He tapped stop the fight, stop the fight!! That would be scary.
I think the body shots can make a difference. But I doubt Israel gone let them through even if Jan attempt them.
Very hard to imagine that. They aren't in might mouse weight category to say the least.
Dan talks and I bite nails... you a legend dude!!!
This is not same situations :) . In Jan situation he is better control distance on legs and body movment . He make window when go back and when good control distance whole time . All fighter you show ore offensive fighters non-counterattack fighters who focus controlling distance like Jan . For sure Adesanya is very dangerous but he make mistakes too and Jan dont need many chances to knock out someone so we will see . When you show Adesanya with Whittaker in similar situation propably Jan make punch and huge kick in his rib :0 so his great balance will be usless :0
Nothing like coming home after a hard day of training, sipping on some whey, and drinking in the knowledge from Dan Hardy. Love the description of Izzy's feints "weaving a web," poetry right there. Just about as tough as it gets for a first title defense. Also a massive credit to Adesanya moving up after cleaning out his division, if you truly believe you're the best that's what you gotta do. Can't wait.
The fact that Dan Hardy didn't win 2020's analyst of the year, is truly beyond me. I can't name a single guy in the game, who delivers the same amount of content with the same amount of quality time after time.

His debut ufc fight was against a big guy
Thanks for doing this Dan. Your fight analysis sessions are like therapy to me. this is a master class of film breakdown by a striker. So good to see this. If you can see 4 ways in like Hardy does and exploit them you increase your chances by 100
