  • Framed took the fat bike world by storm by building a price conscious fat bike with all the features of other bikes for half the price! For just under $900.00 the MN 2.0 offers everything you want in a fat bike ready to get you through trail and snow riding, beaches and bogs and even commuting or simple Sunday rides in the country.
The MN 2.0 starts with a 6061 alloy frame loaded up with SRAM X5 and X7 in a 2X9 drivetrain for easy shifting and performance in any riding conditions. Framed added AVID BB5 mechanical Disc brakes for smooth stopping power. Traction is brought to you by Framed's very own FRAMED Minnesota 4.0, 120 tpi folding bead tire with lightweight tubes. Riders agree; these have a perfect tread pattern to be a true 365 day tire. We round this out on our Aluminum alloy 80 mm 32 hole lightweight rims to reduce rolling weight and increase strength and performance. The MN 2.0 gives you everything you need in a cost effective package. Check the specs and compare to the competition!
To top it off Framed wanted to make a fatty that was as multi-purpose as possible, with the Framed Fattie Slims™ and Fattie Trail 29er wheel sets. Fattie Slims™wheel set" is a ready to ride 29er slick wheel set (w/rotors and cassette mounted). The additional wheel set options (Pat.Pending) allow switching from a "fat setup" to an even lighter, even faster "29 Fattie Slims™wheel set" with no tools or mechanical skills. This is also available in a trail style knobby 2.1" tire for single track and trail conditions.

I recommend supporting your local bike shop by taking your bike in the shipping box to them for assembly. In addition to assembly, they will tune it to ensure its ready for your first ride. My bike shop also gave me some info on local biking groups and trails.

Great review and video. Straight to the point and not boring. You give the viewer information that is important when considering their first fat tire bike.
I can pickup this same bike, 2017 year model for 500 dollars. The bike is in like new condition. This would be my first fat tire bike. Thanks!

Got a Framed fatty the same time you did, the 3.0XWT dropped to $750 right around Black Friday.
Mine also has had the left crank arm come loose, gotta torque that down proper.
Love this bike. Hit the sandy & muddy trails with my buddy on a regular mtn bike, he cursed up a storm as I sailed over all that mess while he bogged down.
Yup, this is a monster truck adventure bike.

I've been on two wheels, pedaling my way around for a solid 25 years now. I've ridden bikes with 2.2 inch wide tires on sidewalks and roads. Unfortunately, not many trails, as they aren't groomed for a bike with that narrow of a tire. I've learned over the years, that front suspension is rather wasteful. Especially on fatbikes. I know plenty of riders that strictly ride fat bikes, others ride a variety. Not one owns a bike for trail riding that is suspension in just the front. I regret getting the suspension on my current XC as it's added weight I don't need, and I could throw on a 3 inch tire and be fine. Suspension on a fatbike- don't waste your time. It's just going to be added weight, that you don't need. Takes away from options for cages, bags and such, that are very nice for long rides. A fatty has enough tire in the front to take away the need of a suspension. Just saying.

Except that the fatter the tire the heavier it is anyway, and the lower the psi the bigger the contact patch which increases rolling resistance. Now personally I own a full suspension DH bike, three hardtails, and a rigid fat bike. Suspensions have their place, even on fat bikes. It depends on what a rider needs, and I can see plenty of situations where a suspension makes sense even on a fat bike.
If anyone reading this ever runs into an "expert" such as above poster who makes blanket statements without even stopping for a second to consider what your personal needs are, I would run the other way and find another shop that knows what they're talking about.

Little late, but the reason the chain is that close to the tire is cross chaining. You are in the little ring up front, and the biggest cog in the back. You will rarely be in that gear. You're gtg as far as chain clearance.

That’s the lowest gear. The granny gear of a 2x if you will lol

I can't get over the indentations on the chainstays. It's the only thing keeping me from this bike. Makes it look cheap
