It was really refreshing to see a reactor who didn't just laugh at Dominic. He was such a sweet kid and Barry Keoghan did an incredible job. Loved the reaction, mate.
Beautiful reaction. It was similar to my own when I first watched this film. Laughing on second and crying the next. I think this film is a masterpiece and it stayed with me long after the credits had rolled. I hope it continues to get attention.
When the credits rolled I just stayed in silence, like in shock trying to process everything I just had felt, Is literal a rollercoaster of emotions. It is a masterpiece, but strong to process but I felt it more as a Drama more than a Comedy, because I was destroyed and of course as they said "There are some things that you cannot move on, and that's good" that hit hard for me. Thanks for enjoying my reaction, I'll be reacting to more films that are not the usual, so if you want to keep and eye on the channel! Hugs from Venezuela
Great reaction, this entire movie for me is a metaphor for life in rural ireland ,endless war, loneliness, depression and then repressing all these emotions until inevitably they explode.
Thank you!!!! And thanks for share your message wich I 100% agree with you, and how we hurt ourselves and destroy others in the way of letting those feelings consume us!... Really hard movie but also there is beauty in the sadness of everything and niceness is always welcome.
i loved watching your reaction! it was such a GORGEOUS movie, paired with it's charming dialogue and then the heavy emotional themes. it was so nice to see a reaction that i related to so heavily. many tears during this movie, but i will definitely be watching it again to think about those themes some more.
Loved this review. Very honest reaction. I loved the scene in the pub where Colm is saying no one is remembered for being nice, when there's a portrait of Jesus over Padraig's head. A very deep movie with some great imagery and metaphors.
There is an argument that i love in this. That Colm has stopped being friend with Padraig for purely selfless ends. Otherwise, why would a fiddler (who argues he needs to stop being friemds with Padraig so he can write his great work) actually follow through with cutting his fingers off? Instead, the older Colm has realised that Padraig is wasting bis life and ought to move on and outwards and away from the island. Padraigs own sister does exactly thay. Colm realises (or thinks) he is the anchor tying Padraig to his status quo and is desperately hoping that through his own action (including self-mutilation) he can persuade Padraig to actually cut his ties and move forwards with his life. At the same time - this is going on over the backdrop of the Irish civil war. A time when friends disagreed over a treaty. Both wanted a free Ireland. Its just some insisted it should be the whole island; and some would take the the treaty that would give them almost all (except that the UK needed their pound of flesh - the 6 counties - of 9 - in Ulster that are still UK today).

It's a metaphor for the Irish Civil war, friends and neighbors fought for no good reason and it left every one hurt and bitter.
eu tbm chorei igual uma vagbunda quando vi o Dominic morrendo e dizendo "There goes that dream"
