Newer generations of social media tend to be more addictive (with TikTok being the prime example). Zuckerberg is succesful because he knows how our brains work and he also has the power to create the technology to exploit that. Let's say i won't be the first one to hop in his metaverse ;). I stopped looking at my phone and started looking up instead of at the ground when I walk but instead, I've just graduated to looking into the distance instead of staring at someone lmao. Basically, just substituted what I use to avoid the problem. Honestly, though, is that not the best solution because, at the end of the day, staring randomly at someone, especially if you're not expected to talk to them or anything, is still pretty weird in a social context, I think.
