Epistemology is the branch of philosophy that deals with the nature, scope, and limits of knowledge. It explores questions such as: What is knowledge? How is knowledge acquired? What justifies beliefs or claims to know something? Epistemologists examine concepts like truth, belief, justification, and perception, and address issues such as skepticism (the doubt about the possibility of knowledge) and the reliability of various sources of knowledge.
