    Darling what’s in the trunk ? ... Oh nothing, just Uncle Bjorn testing banana boxes.

    I have had e-up for 6 months now and it’s the best car I’ve driven.
    It is very fun and easy to drive. Much better than the specs might show
    Because it’s so light, it accelerates fast.
    I got 125 mile range in summer. But only 80 miles in winter
    Would definitely buy a double range version. It would be my perfect EV

      You mean kms?

    • @pennyscan
      @pennyscan 6 лет назад

      mravecsk1 - no, this was 125 miles, but driving very carefully. Typically it was 90 mile range in summer driving normally/fun

      How big is your battery? I drove an e-Up a few years ago and I could only make roughly the same numbers but in kilometers. And when on the highway in winter I only managed roughly 65km at one time. The range was the only thing I didn't like about the car - just about everything else was really great for its price range. Some minor things I would've liked was a digital display of power output and battery charge, rather than weird fractional analog displays where I always had to make calculations in my head to try translate into more meaningful stats.

      Muskar - it’s a 2018 model, 1000 miles on clock, second hand, cost £16900. Standard battery and motor.
      125 mile range was driving only around town in hot summer weather, gentle acceleration.
      The computer often shows less range than the you can actually get.
      if you don’t do long journeys, I would highly recommend the car because of the way it drives.
      The instant acceleration is like a hot knife through butter, there’s no big car weight resistance/inertia
      And the regen braking is perfectly balanced. You rarely need to touch the brake
      The seats are heated, but the car does feel very basic or cheap, but it doesn’t bother me at all.

    I moved my complete drumset in the e-up without taking out anything, also the charger and one 10 metre heavy duty extension cord remained in the trunk. And I have a big 26 inch bass drum (ok only 12 inches deep). The rest are normally deep drums: 13 Snare, 8, 10, 12, 13 and 16 Toms. Then 20, 18, 16, 16, 8 inch cymbals, 13 inch hi-hat. Unfoldable old wooden chair. The drums are on a ramp, which I disassembled just into three pieces with all the tom mounts remaining at their place (this takes way more space). An I managed to place everything very good, so I could carry a moderately sized guitar combo amp, one guitar in a hard guitar case and some cables. The co-drivers seat was fully useable.

    I am awaiting the arrival of Škoda e-Citigo. It is just gonna be a rebranded e-Up but I hope for a larger battery capacity.

    But unclebjørn, in cold winter norway, the banana boxes are smaller due to the cold weather. You did the rest banana test in summer where banana boxes Are bigger. Therefore you need remake this video in the summer again.

    VW is great at making compact cars that are surprisingly roomy. Hope they are serious about their EV production promises. Then I might forgive them for Dieselgate.

    In Germany the price increased 4000 Euro for the e-up last week. Is it the same in Norway?

      Saw some used ones at 15k with low kms, I think that is quite a good deal.

    • @miloe436
      @miloe436 6 лет назад

      No, prices for a new e-up has gone down 50 000 NOK with the new entry model. To 179 900 NOK(18500 EUR). Well, I see the anounced price was 171 100 from Volkswagen, so they might have increased prices a little bit the last week.

    I understand why, but odd why VW won't just offer the e-Up! with a cheap, steel space saver spare wheel.
