spending money on food and not taste good is one of the worst feelings
The people that shop there don't gave money problem. If they wasted 1000 it wouldn't bother them
glad the brownies were “a yes” but really disappointed that the mixed berry crumble was “so disappointing” - no offence to any American shoppers - but I thought the store set up was claustrophobic and rather disappointing - wouldn’t ever go even just for a look around - glad Harrison took us on his dime though 🇨🇦🙏
@@ej3016 realistically speaking the average American wouldn't even shop there.
Depending on where you live you'll either be shopping at Walmart, Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, Aldi, Stop and Shop or C-Town.
Where I live I use stop and shop and Amazon Fresh depending on my budget.
or when you order a takeaway and they forget your drink :(
Not to mention the waste in calories!
I live in LA and we decided this is the new way of determining wealth. How many bags of groceries you walk out of erewhon with lol.
hahaha so true!
Lmao I can’t even afford to think of this store
99%ers, one has one's shopping delivered from erewhon. One would not think of going one's self. LOL great video.
@@johnpetrisko wow. Hadn’t even considered that lol
This store is just a average Canadian grocery store price wise.
Food is expensive up here in Canada.
Considering how much the snacks are individually, the sushi sounds like a bargain at $20.
Those prices are insane. At a certain shopping frequency it likely becomes cheaper to hire a part time chef.
It's especially insane considering so many of the brands there are also sold at Walmart
It’s a rip off. I think most people would go broke if they bought all their groceries there. It might be cool to try out some products for a special treat occasionally. If you are a millionaire or billionaire then I guess it would be okay to shop there on a regular basis.
thank you captain obvious. i hope you understand this store IS for rich people, not regular folk.
I wouldn't shop there even if I were millionaire. It's a waste of money. If I want fancy stuff, I'm going to Whole Foods.
@@laurateaho-white9654 bro thinks Whole Foods in fancy LMAO
didn't question $26 for water but couldn't comprehend an $11 brownie LMAO
At least u get to reuse the water container! 🥴
11$ for coconut water? I am a Sri Lankan all I need to do is just go outside to my garden throw a rock at my king coconut tree and drink fresh KC Water fresher than yours 🇱🇰
Haha i thought the same thing. I got the feeling that if i could become the supplier for that coconut water 😅😅😂 11$ insaneee. Its 3300 rupee
you got a spare room?
That is one heck of a flex, but it's true.
Ya but you also live in Sri Lanka.... life gives you lemons....
Maybe try ALDIs next time as the alternative to this video?
Sprouts is better
if ur rich yeah@@wowsk8ter1
They have amazing horse cuts 😂
I am living for the content Harrison has been providing us with
Thankyou! Glad you like it
@@HarrisonWebb97 please move to LA
I’m wealthy and I would never spend that much money on food. I guess that’s why I’m wealthy.
The cheapest thing was pistachio milk lmfao? Arguably one of most expensive raw ingredients you can get at a general store...everything else has a horrendous markup then if freaking pistachio milk is the most affordable product hahah
yeah honestly, its zeird, for instance the maple syrup was not that bad, especially if its quality maple syrup>
some items seem to not be marked up too high, others are ridiculous
the energy you have in this video is hilarious 😂
$26 for water - we are getting it. And what are you going to do with it? Put in a museum? Or actually drink it $13 a glass of water at a time??
I struggle to pick the 1$ or 2$ gallon water and he's buying a 25$ gallon
That better be water from the fountain of youth.
Real coconut water should come out of a coconut. If that’s the best you’ve had then either you never tried real organic coconut water or you just enjoy the added sugar in that plastic container with other flavor enhancers
yeah its sad how many people have never tasted real coconut water and think coconut water is bad because of the fake stuff in stores
Exactly... and as far as I know, coconut water is transparent and doesn't have pink hue to it..
Whoever opened that supermarket had the best business idea ever
1:20 everything is so straight on the shelves because nobody is buying shit in there.
notice how everything is fully stocked
And most ppl are carrying baskets, or 1 or 2 items unlike normal shops that are full of carts. All the aisles are so narrow too.
“26 dollars for a water , what a great deal” lmao ❤😂
I'd like to think that one day when I'm loaded, I could come here and do some shopping but honestly I'd probably look at the prices and leave. What a waste of money on things that are so average!!!!
“Would I spend $20 bucks on it? No.”
Me: Hate to break it to yah Harry… you already did. 🤦🏻♀️
don't remind meeeee alondra!!!!
Erewhon reminds me of a slightlier fancier Whole Foods (Paycheck) Market.
you spent a total about $200 that’s crazyyy😂
Don’t remind me hahah
Damn i would've fainted lmfao
Their customers...people with too many dollars and not enough cents!
As a Canadian these are normal prices in a regular grocery store for us 😢
Are you adjusting for currency conversion?
Omg whatttt
LA gives dystopian
The Birch Benders pancake and waffle mix, grain free, that you passed around the 1:30 mark. I buy that at around 8-10$, for a smaller bag, at normal grocery stores. Anything for Celiac or allergen friendly is just crazy since all the trends started these past 2-4 years.
every single item and price you named had me gasping out loud, this is insanity lmao
What is funny is that in the western world you actually see more of the final customers in that kind of shop . I live in South East Asia and in that equivalent of upmarket shops there is mainly maids who will shop there driven by the chauffeur .
Same for the schools , if your kid is in a posh school in developing countries you will see way less parents than in a posh school in America for example .
A friend of mine was working for a big consultancy firm here in South East Asia and because they were recruiting at a high level the local candidates have been mostly educated abroad and who can educate their kids abroad if not la crème de la crème . So what happened is that when he launched a one year apprenticeship program the newbies were coming to the office driven by their home chauffeur . 😂
Average price for Canadian groceries 😭
Why are they so high ?
@@user-bi9md9io9o provincial and federal governments hate Canadians.
@@user-bi9md9io9o Because Canada is SHITE!!!
Those r some crazy, unjustifiable prices! Some kinda the same here in MIA sadly, ngl 😢
harry please do a video of trying walmart items ❤ love the vids
their food bar and coffee shop are the best parts of the store
their most expensive items are in the fruits and vegetables department
This place makes Waitrose seem like a Lidl....
You’ll most definitely have so much energy from all the sugar you consumed, NOT from the mushroom 🤣🤣
hahahah didn't even think about that
Those prices are similar to what we have here in Canada at every grocery store these days!
The unfortunate thing is this is starting to look like the average gorercery bill for 4 people
Why was I getting The Handmaids Tale vibe from that store? the way everything is all lined up like like a toystore!
this video made me subscribe. Would love to see more trips to this luxury grocery store to see what they sell compared to normal stores, and if its really worth it.
Watched all the ads to fix your bank account haha
appreciate it hahahah
you should try trader joe’s!
For the price you paid, I would expect truffles and caviar.
Those are regular prices in Canada
It looks expensive and the food looks amazing...but I can think of somewhere that must be more expensive, the Harrods foodhall in London
Just a typical grocery shop in Australia rn lol
Minimum wage in L>A is 16.00$ an hour. Still wouldn't shop there....
“$26 dollars for water??! We’re getting it no question” is my favorite part haha
If this was here in UK, the shoplifters would strip it bare.
2:51 I pay less for cannabrownies holy hell
That pie it’s from Lidl, I promise you! 10:49
What's scary is Australian groceries in general aren't that much cheaper than this if you buy all brand name.
4:44 your whip 😂
Chips for 5 bucks is just a normal price here in Zürich 😂😂😂😂
Imagen making a normal weekly shop there. You will pay look 1000 bucks for it 😂😂😂😭
You should give them a taste of your granola so they know what good granola is
Makes the Waitrose crowd feel poor af. The Erewhon snoots would look at them like the way they look at the Aldi/Lidl mums.
I shop at Waitrose and Ocado and was thinking the same thing 😂
It’s CRAZY how they are surprised by the prices…. When in reality there’s villages in Alaska with unhealthy food for higher prices than they’re paying at this store! Lol
yeah but most people don't live in remote Alaskan villages
I still prefer M&S. I live in a mountain now🇨🇦the price is higher than this one.. Crazy ( they sell small bag cereal for $25 btw maybe too organic too healthy but who cares )Ohhh twisted pepper!!
this video made me appreciate Tesco.
A large bag in this store is $150 thsts insane
I’m curious how it would compare to what I’ve heard about grocery stores in the North (Canada)…
Why are the aisles so narrow in such an expensive shop?
Looks like not everyone is their target consumer.
“Tuna or Salmon. They don’t even know what it is.” 😂😂😂
Love your honesty!
My fav part was the coconut water lol he goes "all coconut water is pretty bad" but ......."that's fire!" 😂
That store is wild! Thx for the honest reaction.
Best coconut water is fresh out of a coconut tho and it doesn't cost as much as that processed bottle thing.😆
but fresh one has miscroscopic bugs in it
I had fun watching this one. Thanks for sharing. Watching from the Philippines.
American watching from the Philipines too, you should see the prices at S&R a store like sams club buy much higher prices
@6:28 “They taste like ass”. Lmao, I just subscribed because of that 😂
hahhaha thanks!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The wrap and the prawn box was very good value. Kebab wraps in my area are £13 and they're not even good.
"26 dollars for water *blows raspberry* we're getting it!" lmaoo
they make a ton with their own brands' products, like even if its organic, they dont have to buy the product off of a third party or anything. Dude that granola was prob like 8 x the production cost damn.
That $180 buys you 130g of ham at Galleria Lafayette in Berlin. All taken from the leg that they don’t scratch themselves with so it’s extra tender.
Your sense of humour is class mate ✅😂😂. Also do you think its more expensive than Harrods ? Im sure they would be good competors if they were both in the same country
The cars here are popping Subaru outback and Toyota Corolla behind him lol 😅
Oh and that set up? It’s screaming Stepford Wives.
Seriously who would pay $25 for a water?
content creators/influencers. I guess that's their target customer, especially in LA.
How weird did the aisles looked so small... like two people couldn't push a shopping cart in opposite directions down the aisle??
that's some bourgeoisie shit that doesn't fit in this economy😂
I pay 50 cents for coconut water straight from the coconut lol. And you get the meat too. Processed coconut water is the biggest scam on earth
but raw has live microscopic bugs in it
I’m only liking this video bc he spent $26 on tap water in a glass jug
Imma be honest, in Puerto Rico my sister buys $18 almond butter so I wasn’t shocked by the hazelnut spread.
NOWHERE spelled backwards. Like the Samuel Butler novel. Meant to sound exclusive and mysterious? 8:59
It's actually NOHWERE spelt backwards.
The cost doesnt match the taste. Kale chips 🤮 i rather eat fresh fruit.
I love lavender lemonade, so I buy it whenever I see it. Unfortunately, so many end up being disappointing. The best one I ever had was at a little restaurant in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. It was $12 a glass but worth every penny (I was being frugal, so I only had two 😂).
I finally found his RUclips channel and I'm staying here for awhile
Thanks for the new video! I’m looking forward to seeing what other content you post! Always good to learn as much as you can!
they have digital price tags that update over wifi, but not the shopping carts that tally the bill for you and you just walk out.
“The filling looks promising “😂😂
26 dollars for a bottle of water. There is a spring not far from here that is tasty and free
The aisles are so claustrophobic. You'd think they could afford wider aisles. If I'm paying those insane prices, I want wide aisles.
Aisles don’t look inclusive nor accessible-friendly.
But were you focused?! I need to know lol
BROOO THEY HAVE AQUA CARPATICA IN THE ELWATER SECTION.That is like 0.50$ in romania and they sell it like it is something very exquisite 😭💀
No! Absolutely NO
Usually, you don't pay for taste, but responsibly sourced ingredients, raw and organic ingredients without industrial fillers and small ingredient lists. Taste testing these products only makes little sense. Check for mineral ratios in the water for example. However, these products are calculated ripoffs, as you'll always find people willing to fall for status marketing.
so a brownie is worth 11 dollars whilst water is 26 dollars rriiiiggghhht. so i take the water is from the fountain of eternal youth i expect for that price lol
loving the video brotha!! keep up the great work g!!!!
Appreciate it!!
It looks a bit like a Booths supermarket, only Booths is less expensive and LA. They have Booths all over the North West UK, much nicer than Waitrose, locally sourced products, food in little rustic baskets, and very clean, stylish stores. Nothing like it really in London, sadly.
Those Erehwon prices are insane for tasteless weird LA food, thats like a mix of cardboard flavours.
Just goes to show just because it’s expensive doesn’t mean it’s worth the price it’s being sold at.
I think most of these prices are there same in Waitrose 😂
You got it right on one try-- poké bowl, said "pokay."
