    Great skid, love the ingenuity in every new build you make. Question, will a belt driven pressure washer pull from the bottom feed of the water tank even if it is 1ft or more higher? Adding a tank and my PW inlet is about 1ft higher than the tank outlet. Thanks!

      Yes it will, little trick is to get the water to end of your supply hose then connect to the pressure washer. But it still should pull without doing that. When you turn the key switch you should start seeing the water being sucked up your water hose.

    I have a question. With a dedicated softwash system and accurate proportioning valves, is there a need to also setup downstreaming on the pressure washer? I plan on building a 7 GPM softwash system so I can do roofs and house washes instead of downstreaming. I figure you stretch out your softwash hose, stretch out your pressure hose with a ball valve, wash one side of the house with softwash, rinse it with pressure, and move on to the next side of the house, just as quickly as downstreaming, with all of the advantages of a dedicated softwash system.

      Not necessarily of that's the way you want to wash. It's all a personal preference. Lots of guys do it the way you are talking about. I just prefer using the downstream as first option, then I ahve only one hose to work with. But some jobs we do have to use both. Just depends on the surface and how dirty it is. There is so many different ways to things in this business, and you just have to find the way you like to do it, and do it. So much is just personal preference.

    Hey Doug, question about the pressure washers, does the buffer tank need a certain amount of water in it to prime the machine? It looks like your machine is pretty high up, my concern would be water not reaching the pump when you turn it on if the tank isn't full.

      Normally on belt drive machines that wont happen due to the ability of the machine to pull the water, but we just always make sure the water is at the end of the suction hose before connecting it to the machine and starting it up. Our tank is always full when we start it, if the level goes down, and we happen to turn off the machine, then it will still pull when we start back up.

    Is a 65 gallon tank big enough to be a buffer tank for a 5.5 gpm machine? What size would you use?

    • @PressureCleaningSch
      @PressureCleaningSch  5 месяцев назад

      Yes it is. I've used as low as 55 Gallon on a 5.5 before. Water issues are always due to water supply, not necessarily tank size. So if you have a 225 gallon tank and poor water supply your going to have water issues.

    Hi Doug a few Siamese questions firstly do you still recommend Siamesing because I’ve heard that it is hard on your machines. Secondly I have a vrt3 unloader is this a pressure trap unloader or will I need something different if so please recommend. Thirdly can I down stream while being Siamesed, I want two 5.5 gpm machines so would I put a 5 gpm down stream injector on each side of the top of the T on the Siamese hose or one 10 gpm injector at the bottom of the T where the Siamese kit will hook into the single hose your using. Fourthly me wanting two 5.5 machines will mean I’ll have 11 gpm which is a weird number so I usually see down stream injectors, guns,surface cleaners, nozzle tips ,unloaders, etc in either 10gpm or 12 gpm sizes, will I be ok with going with either one of these sizes? I have a 10.5 gun and unloader will this cause problems? Or would even just 10gpm accessories suffice or will I need to find 12gpm accessories. Thanks so much it means the world to me if you get the chance to help.

      Yes, I still recommend it and do it all the time with no issues on my machines. Pressure trap unloader is the only type of unloader you can use to Siamese. I never use Siamese for down streaming, only for rinsing and surface cleaning. I would upgrade to 12GPM accessories so you can get full flow. You might be ok with 10GPM, but you'd just have to try and see.

      @@PressureCleaningSch thanks for responding, how will I know if my vrt3 unloader is a pressure trap unloader? Online it just says that unloaders can either be adjusted by pressure or flow but never specified which one mine does. Would I be ok trying to down stream with 11gpm? Would having only a 10gpm gun cause strain on my pump or only on the gun itself, what would happen if I used higher gpm nozzle tips with a lower gpm machine and vice versa

    I’m not familiar with pw skids, but what exactly is the air compressor for?

    • @PressureCleaningSch

      We will hook up our Big Slinger air diaphragm system pump station to the compressor for soft wash cleaning of roofs and surfaces with bad staining. Air Diaphragm pumps are powered by an air compressor. Here's the link to it and there are videos in the link you can see it in action. www.dougruckerstore.com/products/big-slinger-soft-wash/
