Degrees in Health Care Administration and Policy

Amber Brooks-Gumbert, the program director for the Master of Science in health care administration and policy, is a physician assistant by training and worked in hospital internal medicine for 13 years. During her time as a clinician, Brooks-Gumbert took interest in education when she was directing the postgraduate PA fellowship at the hospital. She came to ASU to share her passion in improving patient care and the health care system with the next generation. Originally launched under the title of science of health care delivery, the health care administration and policy program aims to train students to be agents of change. “Our online health care administration and policy program provides prospective students a really wonderful way to look at the health care system, how to make changes and improvements not only in Arizona, but where they are,” Brooks-Gumbert said. “That's what it's all about. And that's what we're here to do, improve patient care.”
