    About time somebody with a voice questions Poles not putting adequate assets into the offensive line from his day one on the job. I’ve been questioning this 2 years ago when Poles didn’t have a 1st, and spent both of his precious 2nds on the secondary instead of protecting Fields. The team that Poles inherited was bad, but secondary was one of the only positions of strength with Jaylon Johnson and Eddie Jackson, and Poles still invested his first two picks on the job on the secondary. As a former OLineman, you’d think he would know better than cheapen out on the OLine and try to patch that up with leftovers from the draft and the free agency. Now Poles is reaping the misery of his stupidity.

  • @markDwattssr
    @markDwattssr Месяц назад +4

    If we invest in Oline in next years draft we could turn this around pretty quickly. We have a 1st, two 2nd, and a 3rd then 5,3x 6 rd picks. There are plug and play starters as late as the 3rd rd for interior Oline. We need to draft a Guard and Center at Minimum with those first 4 picks in the draft. If we at least do that at a minimum there shouldn’t be anymore glaring weaknesses on this team. I’d draft a OT with that first and replace the LT, RG, and Center. I’d draft a Safety and Dlineman with whatever I had left.

    Olin is a brilliant offensive line mind, but I don't think he is right when it comes to Ryan Poles not investing in the offensive line. Nate Davis was a good G in Tennessee and the contract reflects that. Darnell Wright was a top 10 pick. Tevin Jenkins was a 2nd round pick. Braxton Jones was only a 5th rounder, but I would argue he was the best lineman on the team yesterday (PFF agrees with that for what it is worth). The only position that isn't properly invested in is center. The whole line shouldn't be this bad compared to the investments made.

    I'm not sure what Poles thinking is. I want to believe that it was a product of opportunity in that they had the first pick and Williams was available and decided that they would put off the oline and dline for a season. Now sure, they could have grabbed Fashanu at 9, but maybe Poles didn't like Fashano, as Alt and Latham were already off the board. Or maybe he could have traded back on that pick and grabbed Jackson Powers, but then we're just speculating whether there are trade partners to facilitate that move. With that said, the Bears have a ton of cap space and a lot of picks in 2025, so there is plenty of capital to fill holes on both lines and if Poles ignores it again he should be charged with a war crime.

    I disagree. The way the Bears are built right now, Poles can splurge exclusively on both sides of the trenches, not only next offseason, but the year after as well.

  • @thomasrobb1398
    @thomasrobb1398 Месяц назад

    Why question. Why do the announcers have guests, then ask 5-6 sentence questions. You have an expert on your show. If I'm the announcer, Olin, tell me what problems you see in the run game? No, it has to be a 5-6 sentence question. Do the announcers get paid by the word?

    If a football team has the worse passing game in the NFL and the best rushing game in the NFL. Paired with top ten special teams/defense and turnover ratio what does that equal?? CHICAGO BEARS FOOTBALL. For lords sake Waldren get the fucking fullback in there and run the DAMN ROCK.
