WirePlumber 0.5: Bringing Smart Audio Filters to PipeWire - Julian Bouzas, Collabora
WirePlumber is the default session manager of PipeWire, the multimedia server that has become the standard for low-latency audio, Bluetooth, video capture and many more use cases on modern Linux systems. Built with flexibility and configuration in mind, WirePlumber is extremely adaptable on both desktop and embedded, especially when it comes to policy management. With its upcoming 0.5 release, WirePlumber will see the introduction of smart filters, which allows users to configure automatic handling of audio filters such as echo cancellation, noise reduction and loopback. In this talk, Julian will explain how these are configured, what advantages they bring for complex audio systems, and how they solved problems for an existing client at Collabora.
