Those arrangers - and musicians - with the Metropole Orchestra always get - and richly deserve - their own share of the spotlight. Fantastic. I have a Bob Brookmeyer CD made with them and I expected to hear some of his own great arranging. No, none, he just played and they took care of the rest.
+twoerner11 You are obviously a moron with no knowledge of life. Do you know the background to his breakdown? Of course not. Shove your opinions up your arse.
“Frank Rosolino was a towering genius of the jazz trombone. And I miss his infectious giggle.” - J. J. Johnson
frank played with emotion and heart. he just inspired me once again as i walk out the door to go play a big band concert! go frank!!
My all time favorite .......Frank.....performing with the (Dutch) Metropole orchestra.....in 1978. Trombone playing from another galaxy.
Thank's for that info. I wondered who the orchestra was.
The trombonist from another dimension!
Beautiful stuff ....killer playing and love the orchestral arrangement.

Met him at Ronnie Scott’s in the 70 s . Amazing.
I never got hear him in person but I could listen to his recordings all day long.
I've hit "replay" multiple times just on this piece. Once, driving alone in my car, I played it probably a half-dozen times - back to back.
long live the KING!
Such a sensitive man and musician. One of the great geniuses of the trombone.
+twoerner11 I doubt your knowledge of 'sensitivity', brother.
