    Woah, knew this would be good but didn't think this video would give me so much clarity on IR. My ability to understand IR just jumped from 30% to 70%. Thanks a lot ! :)

      @@SharpMindsGMATPrep Would skipping questions strategy (10/12) works the same for Executive Assessment Test? Because IR section in EA test is weighted and since to maximise the total score, I was wondering what will be the strategy for EA test if the number of questions and time remains the same.
      Also, do you guys do Prep work for EA test too? Absolutely love your explanations!!

    • @SharpMindsGMATPrep
      @SharpMindsGMATPrep  3 года назад

      Given that GMAT is far more competitive than EA, it is unlikely that you will need to stretch your attempts in the IR section beyond what works well on the GMAT exam. We do not offer separate courses for EA, but can customize the tutoring through a combination of GMAT learning material and private coaching sessions. Also, many thanks for your kind appreciation 🙏

    IR question about brazil and Russia at 15:00 , Does close proximity to Museum mean More people visiting museum ? It can also mean People there are not interested or not much to see there, etc

    • @SharpMindsGMATPrep
      @SharpMindsGMATPrep  3 года назад +2

      You are right in saying that close proximity to a museum does not necessarily mean that more people visit the museum. However, it can be a good logical explanation as to why more people in that region visit museums compared to other regions. The question is asking us to give a possible explanation for the phenomenon, and this one fits.
      In this question type, you have to choose as your answer one of the possible factors that can lead to the data seen in the table.
      We are not saying:
      If X (option) Then 'Necessarily Y' (data in table)
      Instead we have to ask:
      If Y (data in table), then 'Could it be because of X' (option)?
      Hope this clarifies.

    Thank you again for the video...will you know if note boards and markers are provided for this integrated reasoning section during the exam? Or is it only a virtual calculator provided for that part?

    • @SharpMindsGMATPrep
      @SharpMindsGMATPrep  4 года назад

      For the IR section, you will have access to an online calculator. In addition to this, the noteboard and markers (physical) that you are allowed to use for the rest of the exam are available for this section as well. So you can use the same for your rough work during the exam.

    If you had to take an educated guess, how much weight do you think an admissions committee places on the IR score compared to the overall GMAT score?

    in brazil question 3rd question do we need to check all 5 as more than 20 percent as only 3 were able to qualify out of 5 so i.e why you stated it as no?

  • @shubhamsharma7940
    @shubhamsharma7940 3 года назад

    is the level same in the real exam as shown in the video or more or less?

    • @SharpMindsGMATPrep
      @SharpMindsGMATPrep  3 года назад

      The questions discussed in the video are from the official GMAT website mba.com hence they are very representative of actual questions. In any case, not all 12 questions in the IR section of the exam will have the same difficulty level, so a couple of questions are likely to be harder and a few others easier as well.

  • @laurenhuff3931

    Can you use the marker tool this instructors using on the GMAT? Thank you for the video

    • @SharpMindsGMATPrep
      @SharpMindsGMATPrep  4 года назад

      No, the marker tool has been used only for the purpose of explaining in this video. It is not available on the exam. However, you are given a writing pad that you can use for rough work. An online calculator is also available for the IR section only.
      Thanks for your feedback.

    How is the number of natural history museums per capita related to the percentage of people visiting these museums?
    It is possible Russia has the highest number of museums per capita, but people don't visit them as much as other countries.
    So, I think the second statement's answer should be 'would not help explain'.
    Table variant type 2, second statement.

    • @SharpMindsGMATPrep
      @SharpMindsGMATPrep  3 года назад +4

      Let's say you have a data table which shows that Peter scored the highest marks in his class in Subject A.
      You have to provide a possible explanation for the same.
      There is an option that says:
      Peter put in more hours than any of his classmates in preparing for Subject A
      Does the above help explain the data in the table?
      The answer is Yes, it does
      While we can argue that putting in maximum number of hours does not necessarily mean getting the highest marks, or that quality of prep matters more than quantity, or that Peter might have cheated, the explanation given is still a good one.
      So in the question discussed in the video, you have to look at the correct option as a possible explanation. It need not be the only explanation, nor does it always have to follow. All we have to check is whether it is logical or not to connect the option with the data
      Hope this helps.

    As for the graph question, at the first glance, I think of the graph as the cumulative S-Curve, and then I get the wrong answer.
