@nelsonriggusa Thanks for the discount code. I've spent the last few hours looking for quality waterproof motorcycle rain gear online. Your 2 year warranty caught my attention as I live in rainy western Oregon, and I plan to ride a lot with this set, and the discount code made it a sweet deal for jacket, pants and suspenders too.
Thank you for the great video! Just had my wife order a set for me. (Christmas present! :) Glad I saw your video, especially abou the pants. I'm going to get a pair of suspenders and use them with those pants.
Is it a worthwhile upgrade over the Stormrider suit if it's still in good condition? I'm doing a 5000 mile trip this summer that goes through OR and WA and predict rainy weather.
When your riding in the rain and don’t want water running into your jacket thru neck,,,,you put your helmet on over the hood,,,no more rain,,,pretty somple
Hi Kirk! Your comparison of the two NR products was helpful. In my experience, I have found Gortex causes me to get very warm (hot) too. Would you say the PU coating breaths similar to Gortex or Frogg Toggs gear?
I haven’t tried the Nelson Rigg gear, but my first set of rain gear many years ago was a PVC coated fabric and it was terrible to wear for more than a few minutes, especially in warm weather as it just didn’t breath at all. I found that I was more comfortable simply riding in the rain and getting wet than I was being in the sauna which was the inside of the coated fabric rain gear. Not wanting to spend $1,000 for Goretex gear, I tried Frogg Toggs and found them to be a good compromise. They aren’t as waterproof in a deluge as are the PVC coated gear, but they are far more comfortable as they are quite breathable. You mentioned the vent in the jacket and said the pants are “more breathable”, but can you compare the Nelson Rigg gear to something like Frogg Toggs or Goretex from a breathability perspective? Or are they really not all that breathable like the coated fabric gear? I can’t really tell from the video exactly what type of fabric Nelson Rigg uses.
You don't understand why they put the hood on a rain suit?? You are supposed to wear the hood UNDER your helmet. The helmet keeps the hood in place, and the hood, in turn, keeps the rain from dripping down your back. I won't buy a rain jacket without one. Great review, otherwise.
Love the new color it’s really bright. If I get the gear it looks like it’s going to be a great fit.
Just road 900 miles in my Nelson Riggs over a two day period. No problems, no issues! Good stuff and didn’t break the bank.
Great to hear! Thanks for your real world feedback!

Great review.....and awesome side by side with the old and new!!! Any water issues/intrusion around the collar as you ride?
I wish they had the pants in high viz colors, then I would definitively buy one of these

no. PU does not breathe well
@@kirksmotorrad Thanks for your perspective. Like with most things, it appears that there is a tradeoff for items with PU coatings.
