Ahhh!!! Its amazing to see you speak about being ace. As someone who is also asexual, i am so grateful for the rec and feeling very happy and seen and giddy that my favourite booktuber is ace eeee love u!!!!
Amazing haul! Thank you for the kind words about the Mina books. Interview with the Vampire is my favourite of the Vampire Chronicles that I’ve read so far. It’s a slow burn but I love it!
I'm so curious to see what you think of I Keep My Exoskeletons to Myself. And sounds like I need to get my hands on Welcome to the Hyunam-Dong Bookshop!
I just got Water Moon delivered (and of course as usual Amazon beat up the book so I may need to exchange it but anyway) I love how you can turn the cover into an origami boat! 10/10 cover design !
I’ve heard the Wicked book is absolutely insane! And yes to reading Interview with the Vampire because you have to watch the television adaptation. The Brad Pitt-Tom Cruise movie is good, but the show? Oh my God.
I just read Wellness a couple of weeks ago and I already know it will be in my top 10 books of 2025. Easy 5 ⭐️ for me! I hope you enjoy. I’m also really looking forward to reading Water Moon. It sounds amazing 😍
I have been listening to The Three Lives Of Cate Kay on audio and love it. Reese picked a great choice for January. Beg Borrow Or Steal was 4 stars for me.❤
The end papers for Water Moon has instructions on how to fold the dust jacket into a paper boat. The TJ Klune book cover is a photograph of a sculpture made by Red Nose Studio, I recommend checking him out.
Oh Gabby, the favorites is my 6 star read and I thought I wouldn’t really care for it because Ice skating but OMG by the end I wanted so much more of their lives.
Such an amazing selection of books! I JUST started reading The Three Lives of Cate Kay and really love it so far, so I’ll have to report back. I’m extremely excited for A Game in Yellow and Water Moon, can’t wait to hear your thoughts on those!
I recommend to listening to the audiobook for walking practice. The narrators made really cool voice affects that I don't think would translate physically reading
As much as I liked Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie's ted talk (which was latter made into the book We Should All Be Feminists) and her book Americanah it is my understanding that she is a terf and in fact author Akwaeke Emezi (a nonbiney author also from Nigeria) has stated that Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie "'hates trans people,' and is trying to use her platforms to oppress the queer community." -from the NPR article I was looking to fack check for this comment.
Beautiful ugly is basically a horror book. Not paranormal or supernatural, but just horror😧. It ended up giving me the same icky vibe as Jennifer Hillier's Jar of hearts. I was so disappointed by Wicked. It had a potential to be amazing, but it ended up just being so boring🥱. I DNF-ed it 2/3 in. I just literally couldnt take it anymore.
Gabby I suggest reading the vampire Lestat before Interview with the vampire and then read the rest. Also the tv show (2022) is incredible. I’ve watched it 4 times. Sam Reid and Jacob Anderson are the perfect Lestat and Louis. The movie is not that good.
Ooh let’s go old school vampires reads- here are some recommendations… The Morganville vampires series by Rachel Caine. The first book is glass houses. If you haven’t please try Twilight saga by Stephanie Meyer. The host is a great Psy-Fi by Stephanie Meyer.

If you haven't watched the movie Interview With the Vampire I highly recommend it after you've read the book!!!

I read Wicked more than 25 years ago. There is some very strange sexual content. I will be interested in what you think about it.
Happy birthday 🎂
