I'm 74 years old and I live in the SubTropical city of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, USA where the Stunningly Beautiful Flamboyant tree, also known as the Royal Poiciana grows.
In all of these years I've never known that the unususl seed pods are edible for humans.
Squirrels love the seeds and harvest every one, leaving the long pods to dry out on the ground where the ants and other ground insects soon devour them.
Nothing goes to waste in Nature.
This video, like your others, is extremely interesting.
    Thank-you.

I love what you have shown us today. Thank you for demonstrating the recipes. I have all those plants in my garden. In Queensland we call the tree Poinciana. But I also recognised the basil, wild mint, kan kong and some other greens I can't remember now. I can make the sauce but I can't get soft-shelled crabs but I will use fish. I have pawpaws green and ripening. Such simple food is certainly the best.
My Poinciana trees are flowering and growing their seed pods right now so I will be sure to try the seeds. I will use the electric hand saw and slice off a narrow slice down the side to open the pod and release the seeds because my hands are not strong anymore.
I will go to the Asian supermarket to get those tools you and your brother used to make the dishes. That tool that shreds the pawpaw is amazing and very useful.
