I just gave your video a thumbs up. I especially liked the way you showed the use of the Menu. Brother has done an excellent job of making it user friendly. I bought the 2700 which is a few pages slower per minute than the 2740 & $50.00 less. I just wish your video had shown the unit printing on BOTH SIDES of a page.

Received my 2700 All in one unit yesterday. I connected it to my IMAC via an A to B USB 2.0 cable & successfully downloaded & installed the required driver from Brother website. I especially like the 2 sided printing feature. I'm going to stick with Brother Toner cartridges rather than using any off-brand/after-market toner. It's a variable I simply don't want to deal with. All functions do what they're supposed to do. I'm keeping all the packaging, just in case.

Nice video. However, I cannot tell if a FAX got sent. The message says FAX received, but I don't know if that just means it got saved in the printer or received by the recipient. I could not find out how to get a report. Also, when saved to file, it does come out as a PDF file, which is great. But when I tried to send it to a web site designed to receive such files, it did not seem to go ... at least I was told it had not been received. Any comments here, please??

I have a similar Brother model, a few years old MFC-7360N. Very similar performance and the same print quality. Brother makes an excellent machine.

If it has just one toner cartridge it is monochrome. If it has four it’s colour.
Hi Dave, would you recommend this for printing photographs. I currently have a Canon mp560 which is starting to give up. I'm a keen hobbyist photographer so was after something for around this price mark.

can I hook this up to the main wired computer AND have wireless scanning at the same time? (our front desk has the wired in desktop, and the other offices are all wireless) Also, we would like to be able to have the option to set-up, or at least be able to send-to, multiple email address destinations for scanning (for confidentiality) - anyone know if this is an option? If your computer and OS allows printer sharing, this might work.

MFC-L2740DW cannot copy a 8.5"x13" always cut into a4 size print out the text is not complete, but if i feed it on the paper feeder on the top it prints good, but i the document is crumble and and to re-copy it on the 8.5"x13" it wont accept on the the top feeder so i put it in the glass copier its not all the text on the bondpaper,. what will i do. thanks
Pretty sure if original and blank paper sizes match, with trays set correctly, it should be OK. I would contact Brother printer support.
thank you sir now i see it that the glass copier is only compatible for letter and a4 size paper, i have to use the paper feeder on the top to copy a legal size or folio paper,. thank you very much..

How do you connect the printer to the laptop and actually print? Help!!
+Angelica Moreno There should be some instructions in with the printer. Basically, you need to install the drivers, add the printer to your computer OS (in the printers control panel) and then it will be selectable when you print.
My Mac does not have a cd-rom. Does it need one to install the software?
It is available for download on the Brother website.

Once you attach this to your wireless router, install drivers, search for printer and it should appear.

It will do double sided copies from a double sided page? I was told by the clown at staples that only the big machines you have to lease from ricoh can do that...

Brother MFC's; constant problem, constant error messages, constant paper jam; they are built like paper planes
I am sorry to hear that, please do try and contact their customer support.
I had purchased 5 Brother MFC printers, and one after another, they started malfunctioning before they even printed 1,000 pages. The workmanship is awful; we did not even dare to give them to charities; they are all worthless; We have trashed 2 of them; 2 others are getting dust for not being used, and this week, I will trash all of the m at the same time and no more Brother products. Make better quality printers or you will lose customers.
The scanner function is a joke. ADF is very unreliable. Photo scanning gives low detail images with artifacts and too high contrast, worse than my very old Canon flatbed. Only really good for printing and occasional copying / scanning of basic office docs.

Instructions that came with the machine are terrible. Calling Brother Support is a waste of time.
