- #Normandie Series Episode 6 -- "Dark & Beautiful Secrets" is OUT!! Normandie's third Studio album is filled to the brim with filthy riffs, giant choruses, catchy melodies and countless mind blowing highlights.
I had the honour of spending some quality time with this record before it's release, so I was able to let it sink in a bit before this video. This video includes a reaction & review section for each song.

Based on something @Hunter Forsberg just said, this was supposed to mark the end of this little Normandie Series, but ... potentially ... if people want it, I could be inclinded make another 5-10 min episode for each song that I haven't covered in detail yet. So if anyone wants that, pls let me know 😌

I just discovered them through a social app where one guy told me about artists he's been listening to and he mentioned Normandie. I've been listening to their old songs on repeat as well as some song covers from both the group and Philip's. It's so difficult to pick a favorite but I love Jericho and atmosphere, listening to the interviews also gave me a better understanding of the message of each song, but I'm glad that they're making the message more accessible even if we forgot to watch the interviews! Thanks for walking us through your reaction videos!
Right?? Picking a favorite song of this album is nearly impossible. For me it also changes depending on which mood I'm in...

@@JournalsJourneys Yeah, I watched it lol, I looked for different interviews yesterday including the one on your channel! It's great to know about the common themes, that their old album inspires D&BS when you guys talked about Mission Control. I also noticed from your interview and another that Philip mentioned that they were able to fine tune the songs because of the pandemic. I find their work inspirational knowing that despite the craziness in the world, it can also be a blessing (no pun intended or maybe) in disguise.

I already had really high expectations for the album because of the amazing singles and they did not disappoint! This album was even better than I expected. There’s not one track that I’d ever skip. Every song is my favourite song on the album (absolute favs I’d say are: Renegade, Chemicals, Atmosphere, Mission Control and Hostage. I would just list the whole album tbh 😂 Honestly I’m so proud to see them grow so much as I became a fan just before White Flag released so to see them finally get more fans worldwide like they deserve is so amazing. Awesome reaction as well! So glad to see people adore Normandie as much as I do haha🤘🤘

There's no track on here I could ever skip or that's "too much". Don't know how they did it, but this is basically an album full of top-notch singles. Can't wait to see how they progress and hope they get all the recognition they deserve 🧡
I barely comment on any RUclips videos but I watched this one from start to finish and I completely agree. This is probably one of the best albums of 2021. Mission Control is really powerful! Great video!

I was giggling the whole time at your reaction to Mission Control because 1. It was so expressive and adorable, and 2. I reacted the exact same way when I first heard it, so I could totally empathize lol. It was also the first not-preleased-as-a-single song I heard too as I tried to listen in track order. It's mind-blowingly good IMHO. Mission Control and Atmosphere are my top favorites from the album.
Also, you've probably seen already but in case you haven't, Normandie has now released lyric videos videos for each track. 🙂

@@JournalsJourneys I loveee mission control, and I fell in love with Hostage and Holy water right when the MVs were released. Of the new ones, my top three are mission control, bury me alive and chemicals :D what about you?
@@sscorpiun6135 Mission Control is a strong contender for top spot, though I feel like Hostage is still slightly above it. But honestly I can't even choose. I LOVE them all. Usually even if I love an album, there's 2-3 songs that are a bit above the rest, but here? I don't think there really are

So I’ve FINALLY gotten round to sitting down and watching this properly, and all I can say is damn...
Your review just ignites so much love for this album - and watching your reactions to the tracks is incredible (the dance moves are my favourite 😉).
I definitely think this album has some absolute bangers on there which I will definitely not grow tired of, and this review makes me love them even more!

Chemicals is soooo good! Don't know if I'm the only one, but the track feels like it's all round you. Like you're floating in this other dimension... don't know if that makes sense or I just sound like a crazy person (which I am .. not gonna deny that).

To me, it’s quite a melancholy rollercoaster.
As you said, love can be a chemical and you want more of it when you feel something.
In my experience, the idea of love always makes me think of what could be one day.

No one deserves to have their heart broken when they expect something special but in return... they feel abysmal.
This song is a reflection of all of that... AND I LOVE SAID SONG. :’)
