@@gladiatorstribe Guys where's your reverse forehand to put the short ball away with if you use the big flat forehand with the cheap racquet its gonna likely blast the ball long..... With the cheap racquet the weight of the racquet is obviously different to the pro racquet so the ball weight is heavier off the pro racquet... But you guys should be using the strongest part of that cheap racquet to drive the ball with which is using the butt and the frame of the racquet, well that's what I would do with it for the strings of the cheap racquet are not going to have much control If you drive with the middle off a fast incoming ball the ball will not feel good and be heavy arm drag also on the ball, it won't feel good on the body. So I would use the strongest part of the racquet instead for driving instead of trying to hit from the weakest part of it.

Perhaps it would be good to do a video with Artengo’s cheapest graphite racquet leaded up to 330-340g SW and string it up with the same strings as your preferred racquet. Aluminum racquets that weigh 250g or less is just a different world.

Artengo has the TR930 and TR960 line. They cost around 110€ tops. Specs are very similar to the most known 250€ rackets on the market.
I think a good price for a racket is 140€. Everything more than that is overpricing. I know for a fact, you can get a 230€ racket with a discount at around 160€, if you a good negotiator.
The same goes with tennis strings: there are many strings out there costing less than 10€ and that are, if not better, equally good with the more expensive ones.
The main questions here for me is this: are you a pro player or not? If you are not, go for an Artengo, Mantis, Diadem, Toalson, Angell etc racket and save yourself around 80-100€ to spend on tennis strings or clothes.

@@gladiatorstribe They do. TR930 (285g), TR930PRO (300g), TR990 (285g), TR990PRO (300g) and the newest TR960 are available at Decathlon stores (and also online). Also the LITE version of some of them. I don't know what Decathlon store you visited in BCN. Check out the store in Badalona (Montigalá) or Mataró. All of those are pretty decent rackets for 80~110€. Very similar to the premium Babolat/Head/Wilson rackets. Others have already tested them on youtube and were surprised by the good quality and playability of those rackets. Perhaps it would make more sense to test even a lower-priced series like the TR500, aimed to low level amateurs/club players.

I have played with beginner, intermediate and advanced rackets. To me, I thought the challenge was a bit ridiculous. The advanced rackets I have used are so much better than beginner and intermediate rackets. But it goes to say that the more advanced your skill set is, the better you can play with any racket. However, getting a better skill set requires better equipment and there lies the irony.

I plan on getting one in September. Either a TR930 or a TR960. Specs look good. Monfils and Kasatkina use Artengo rackets. They cost just as much as a tennis racket should. Then you can go on and modify it if you want to add some weight etc.
Either way, most of tennis gear (rackets, strings etc) are made in China and Taiwan to keep the production cost low and then sold in the USA or Europe for 200€+. It's getting rediculous.

The Walmart rackets here in the usa are all massively overpowered. Beginners who start with them tend never to learn how to swing properly, since the heavy, heavy topspin needed to control them is a more advanced technique. I used one briefly when I came back to tennis after a 10-year layoff some years ago. It was brief because the racket frame literally bent back when I hit one too many forehands with it. Lasted maybe three weeks.

I enjoyed the video!!! It's awesome that i practice tennis with that racket ajskhdajsda (I want to buy a competitive racket like Babolat pure aero or the Pro Staff but i wait for discount). I'm started to practice tennis 6 months ago and is my firts racket ( I'm 20 years old) but only last 3 months with a trainer with 1 practice day per week. So, I try my best to improve and be a competitive player. Greetings from Colombia!!

That's awesome! Keep up the work and add hours of practice as you go! Try to switch to an improved racket asap to start getting the right feel sooner. Great to know we got Glads in Colombia!

I think you guys should take the cheap racket and destroy the annoying pickle ball players next court. 😉
