@Levian Poca i read an interview (i think it was a real interview from the autor) where she refutes this and says that she didn't see them together in the end. it was either Ash never going with Eiji to Japan cause he didn't want to put him in danger OR killing him. and with the time she saw killing him as the only good ending, cause he was a murderer so giving him a happy ending wasn't "ok" (i hate that woman)
