Wow, first pause 2:14 into the song - this must be your longest continuous stretch, Chase. What a killer track, eh? And the best part is: they're touring with Powerwolf later this year, and I've got my tickets already.
This one seems very theatrical and soft, with obligatory hidden harsh vocals and solos of course, purely setting up whatever world they're building this time. I commented on their video that it seems very 2112 to me, and that's high praise.

I truly hope this band reaches the recognition of the other greats of epic style story music telling. I can help but wonder if this a continuation of the universe of Awakening/Abyss, or if it is a whole new story. The video is pretty great as well. I did not understand the movie. Not at all. To me it just looked like cool animation. But I assume (hope?) that there was some kind of message? And I am not sure I liked the song. Have heard songs from them I have liked much better.
I dont get it myself yet, but they love to tell stories in order and this song is about halfway through the album. So we're seeing a chapter halfway through the book without the beginning. I'm reserving judgement until I see how it fits into the whole narrative. I will take this guess: Based on the progression of thr track names, some naaaaaasty stuff is coming after this part.

There is no real structure and it feels like the instruments and vocals are fighting each other instead of being in perfect harmony as again can be seen in awakening.
I wonder if it’s just the vibe that you don’t like. Humans have their perceptions colored by initial emotional reactions and the comments that are critical of this song from overall UTA fans seem to come from this emotional place. For me I dig it. It’s a UTA jam session :) Though I do agree that the video isn’t that great about midway through.
