Some of your tricks I knew… some, not so much… but I’m glad I came across your channel… I’m homeschooling my kid who is severely dyslexic, dysgraphic and also has dyscalculia… so, math is extremely difficult for her… after showing her your trick for adding fractions, (one I did not know! I always did them the long way,) she grasped that so bloody fast! Thank you! Math is no long the monster in the closet she wants to beat with a baseball bat! It’s quickly becoming the subject she looks forward to the most!!!

I can see me going over lots of your videos with my grandson, and being successful. I never passed a maths exam at secondary school until I somehow scraped through my O Level. I must've spelled my name right!
I got 19/21 of the examples you gave, and going over them I saw I only got the 2 wrong because my times tables are rusty! So I'm off to look for a video of yours about how to keep them inside my head... Thanks for this, though! Ta ta!

So I tried it with 2 2 digit numbers and it actually WORKS. So basically if u have 89 x 24 u would do the 8 x 24 which is 192 and than you add a 0 at the end of the 192 so it turns to 1920 and then do the 9 x 24 which is 216 and then plus the 1920 with the 216 and it equals 2136 and I was genuinely surprised lol. Your welcome ig.
(edit) You could maybe pin this so other people can see this ;) Jk if u don't want to don't but if u want people to see this than do it if u want! Also thanks for the tips and tricks.

    Great, although I've learned to use the 1, 5 and 10 steps, which as well helps for % calc. Double/half were taught first, then x10 = add 0, and x 5 as half of x10. Later we added x4 = x5 - x1, x6 = x5 + x1, and x9 = x10 - x1. For x3, x7 and x8 you add/subtract the double, which means for the samples: 48 x 4 = 480/2 - 48 =192, 67 x 5 = 670/2 = 335, 69 x 6 = 690/2 + 69 = 414, 78 x 9 = 780 - 78 = 702, and for 83 x 7 = 830/2 + 166 = 581. Quite easy as well ;-)

If it's 2 digits X 1 digit it's pretty easy to get it if it's X2, X4, X5 or X8. 2, 4 and 8 just keep doubling it and 5 you just halve and add a zero. But this method is awesome for the other digits!
