What I love about these shooter games is even at 41 I can invite my dad over and we can enjoy it together. He was a big fan of Galaga and 1942 and he cemented my love for this genre for life.

I ONLY recently heard of Star Soldier a few weeks ago and I found out about the original NES game which I downloaded on my 3DS. I had no idea such a simple space shooter spawned so many sequels and remakes.

Star Soldier is a great series; even the N64 version is probably the best shooter for the system. I miss games like this.
