At the Liverpool Philharmonic concert last night, Fazil demonstrated how he has matured over the last 8 years and gained a wonderful self-confidence. He held both the audience and the orchestra in the palm of his hand. A truly stunning performance - a maestro
His cadenza is gorgeous. He is a very brilliant pianist, I was lucky to see him in Mexico city last october or november 2010 playing this same concerto, maybe my favorite of Beethoven's piano concertos. It was such an experience to see him live.
WOW!!! His own cadenza....very cool. Damn the purists! It's only since Beethoven that pianists are no longer EXPECTED to improvise and create their own cadenzas. I think Ludwig would get a kick out of it!
In moments of crazyness it seems that I can explain the world! Every brave artist who cross the small line between this world and a world full of colourfull signs of art, is a genious! Which means you need to be out of control to seperate your body from your soul, to make music, paintings, books etc like this!Love him! Tebrikler Fazil dostum! Her sabah dinlerim ilk kahvemi icerken!
If Beethoven was alive, HE deserves to be worshipped, NOT GOD> what the hell. if i lived and died 100 times i won't be able to make music that beautiful. this concerto absolutely captures me.
The Cadenza is composed by Fazil Say himself. The similarity of the cadenza to his "Kumru Ballade" (at 7.39 - 7.50) is very obvious. The ending part of the cadenza is nearly played like a lullaby (at 8.16 - 8.48), but very well integrated into the following part. Furthermore I like his strong and fast playing of the piano concerto. The version of Abbado Brendel (without a cadenza) is played too slow, for my taste. Fazil Say is a great pianist and composer.
öyle herkesin sanatçı olamayacağının kanıtı, her yönüyle tam anlamıyla sanatçı ve aydın keşke senin gibilerin olmasını beklemek yerine bizde senin gibi olabilsek ...
He quoted Beethoven in his cadenza, but he also said something Beethoven wouldn't have said. Most pianists wouldn't dare open their mouths at all. Being so much at one with the piano is something us lesser mortals can only dream of.
Dear binboga, I just got your point on Ciltures, it has nothing to do with the fact that Fazil comes from Turkey to me, I meant only cultural language of the piece of art, I know wonderful chinese musicianas performoing European music.

there should be clapping around 1:22 after first crazyness but unfortunatly it is classical music so audiance must be quite. Even you are so much impressed you must keep it inside.
Does anyone know about the Cadenza? Did he compose it? It is beautiful, I saw him in 2010 in Mexico playing this wonderful Beethoven's Third Concerto and he played the same Cadenza. Wonderful experience.
The lines and little black dots, the piano and Fazil Say are all one entity, blending, evolving and blooming into magic !

Fazil Say is best interpreter of this concerto IMHO

Fabuleuse interprétation,avec un orchestre éblouissant.
Génie.
Stunning! Such an expressive and passionate pianist!
Fazil Say est le grand pianiste que la Turquie se devait d'avoir.
Quand je l'entends et je le vois, je le trouve magnifique!!
WOW!!! His own cadenza....very cool. Damn the purists! It's only since Beethoven that pianists are no longer EXPECTED to improvise and create their own cadenzas. I think Ludwig would get a kick out of it!
This man is such a musician. Its as though hes talking the music out of the piano, coaxing it as it were. I love watching him play. Bravo!
this man is going to change the world of music, no matter what they say, he's fantastic.
he is just living and feeling the music magnificent
Brilliant!
Liked those totally unexpected innovations!

Это создает реальный себя соул музыки и одна из немногих вещей, оставшихся в этом свободном духе
Mehmet gürses Hocam ne diyor?
Cok güzel Fazil bey🙌🙌🙌
БРАВО!
İnanılmaz bir virtüözite... Piyano çalmasındaki mahareti dile getirmek fazla sığ bir yorum olur. Belli ki piyano onun duygularının emrinde ...
ellerinden öpülesi....
Fazıl Say çağımızın dehası.. İyi ki var!
Adam resmen piyanosuyla aşk yaşıyor
Gotta love that man!
I love the different cadenza...oh! why not!!!??

@jussiry It's a "cadenza" (piano solo without orchestra), but here Say doesn't play Beethoven's cadenza but probably his own.
@AnAdmiringBog it's called interpretation I imagine, it's a free world hey.

WOW!!!!!!! Excellent performance! And that cadenza!!!... Did Fazil composed it?
WOW!!!!! Excellent performance!!! And that cadenza... Did Fazil composed it? Does anybody knows where can I get the score?
Lovely playing, but where did this cadenza come from and what does it have to do with Beethoven's C minor piano concerto?
