Built one last year from old pallets. Have to say only downside for me is the ground underneath became a swamp
Mine was staying kinda wet as well but I dumped a load of dirt underneath and it has helped out!
I am not sure if you mention anything about what you place around the base of each post? Was it just dirt?
Yes I just packed dirt around them.
