This is honestly a top Deftones track. Haven’t listened to this song in years and coming back to it, if they released this album and it sounds anything like this it’s a top tier album.
The ironic feeling of the sadness of Chi's death almost resounds throughout this entire track as if it is a funeral song for him, yet it is called "SMILE"... and i LOVE this song. BEAUTIFUL.
The period from the self titled to koi no yokan is where deftones peaked for me. Diamond eyes is my favourite song by them by far and this, this is probably second. Its incredible. How ive only recently found about this one is beyond me and now I need to hear more of this album, badly.
This feels like the most “Deftones” Deftones track to me, at least in terms of their later style. This just feels like the definitive Diamond Eyes/KNY style song
Eros was gonna be what SNW could of been I think. It has that same ethereal sound, but SNW has just a few filers. Probably still my favorite album by them, the highs are the highest.

Now take this foundation and appropriate every cultural indulgence. Women, drugs, addiction, pleasure. Things people know they can do without. Replace the actual devil with your devil .. HAH!
Couldn’t make it any obvious you haven’t discovered much of their music. “Sound like all their other songs” This song would be extremely out of place on albums like adrenaline, ATF, white pony, self titled…

Yeah I honestly think this would have been my favorite album , this is like my favorite song by them
I think they are still dropping great stuff. Gore was different but definitely solid. And Ohms is top 5 Deftones’ album imo
