Sam, you are a perfect exemplar of the saying: "If you want something done, ask a busy woman!" Knitting, sewing, preparing workshops, raising money for charity, helping your friends - there's no end to your talents, is there? And I guess focusing on all these activities helps take your mind off the chaos in the kitchen... 😬 Good luck with everything.
Aw thank you, I love a striped top 🤗 To be fair I was a long time changing my needle too when I first started sewing, they only got changed when I broke a needle 😳
Love your Edie top! Can't beat a classic Breton. Thanks for joining in our challenge... hoping to do it again next year as people really seemed to enjoy it. Hope everything is going well with your new sewing studio xx
Thanks for taking part in the upcycling challenge ❤ love what you made. Pleased to hear you have more upcycling plans soon too. I know you enjoy an upcycling project like I do ❤. Great to hear about your studio and kitchen updates, as well as other sewing plans x
OMG Sam. When do you sleep 😂😂. I try to do a bit of knitting when I’m watching RUclips videos. I’m in a little knitting & crafting group and we meet once a month. Currently we’re knitting squares to make blankets for refugees (onto blanket No. 6 now). I pointed our admin lady to Mors bags and she’s been making a bag for each blanket to send off to the charity. Good luck for your opening day. You’ve done such a lot of research that I’m sure it will be a big success 🎉🎉🎉. 🤓🏴
Sewing 'camping' equipment is a whole thing. I have been making things for my outdoor adventure family members since I retired. Congrats on your bag cover/shower cap. Its always nice when your items have multiple uses 😉. I can't believe how much you've managed to do in readiness for your opening. 🤞 for smooth sailing next few weeks.
You are right now an inspiration to me, Sam. The pandemic threw us in a situation not anticipated and I’m doing my very best to think outside that box! Look at it as gift. You are glowing! It’s all good, and best of best wishes for your endeavor. I’d love to teach again, alas, there’s the Pond. Oh well. ❤
Your kitchen looks a lot like mine. We had bare boards since last year in the spring but now we have the dry wall up and ive painted it. But we still need to put in cupboards and flooring. It looks a bit of a mess but its my husband and son doing it in between their work and my son's wife just had another baby. My son is in the middle of renovating too so the other 2 little ones each have a bedroom and he is putting up siding on the outside of his house. So that doesn't leave much time for my kitchen. Good thing I'm patient.
My goodness, you are patient, I'm hoping we aren't going to be that long. otherwise I'm moving into the studio - it's warm & dry there & all that sewing space too 👍
I love your Edie top! I have that pattern and had overlooked it as a tee option, but now I will definitely pull it up to make! So nice to see you in your new habitat!!
Not only did you make a top, a cover for your mum's walking bag, some mending for neighbours and cut out a Norma blouse, you made a sewing studio! Wishing you every success in your new venture!
Yes I was very lucky to keep the sink in situ, the new one is going in the same place, so we can leave it there until the new kitchen arrives & whip it out at the last minute 👍
Hi Judith, it's rare I add a peplum to anything to be honest & I think it's just personal taste try 1.5 times the hem length & see how it looks, by basting it on, if you find it's too full, you can then reduce it further - hope that helps🤗

Thanks so much Deb, what a lovely comment - maybe you could do something similar in your town 🤗

Aw thanks so much, funnily enough, when I got the pattern out again, I hadn't realised there was a dress version! Might have to give that a go 🤗

Thanks so much Mairead 🤗
Congrats on all your work and progress. Sadly I’m far from local or would attend one of your classes.
Thanks Karen 🤗
You’re such a busy lady at the mo. You did amazing to sew anything up! 😊
Ha ha, thanks Ruan 🤗
Your kitchen looks like mine except we don't have a sink😏
Cheers! You continue to inspire me!!

Thanks for an entertaining video you have alot going on
Glad you enjoyed it Robyn, I like to keep busy 🤣
General question: how much wider should the gathered panel of a peplum top be compared to the top? I don't want it very full.
