Bengal has surely give us great scientists, poets, and personalities in the past but today I see south is more aggrressive in science and technology or innovation field.
I am really interested to know anyone from new generation who is in science and technology or innovation from Bengal ( any renowned name in ISRO or owners of new startups like Flipkart, Snapdeal, etc. ) even anybody like Shakuntala devi .
I give you few examples, 1) Silicon valley is in Banglore and Hyderabad
      2) Plenty of advance courses in technical , software , will be available in either Banglore, Chennai or Hyderabad at the most Pune, Mumbai never in Gujarat, Rajasthan, Delhi, Haryana etc
      3) Just one more little example, Being in mechanical field (we produce special type of machines )
We use a special type of hard coated plates in our machines which are called hard surfaced plates ( Technically speaking large plates having hard weld layers having 68-70 HRC ) we used to import such plates from Newzealand or Canada or Japan due to unavailibility in India but recently we found the only manufacturer of such plates in India is in Tamilnadu who have started to produce such plates recently.

Oh man!!! These Questions were actually child's play for madam.. I am 100% sure of it.. In the early 90s , DD had telecasted some episode of SDevi in B/W . In that episode, an IISC guy writes a number which has more than 25 digits.. The guy asks for the square root of this huge number.. She sees the number for approx 40 secs and tells "There's something fishy about this number.. If you replace the third digit with a 5 instead of 7, then this is the perfect square of zzzzz some number..." The guy was SHOCKED!!! He later admitted he purposefully wrote the wrong answer..
