If you have a tight budget, you should take a look at the KORG SQ-64. It has 3 polyphonic Synth tracks and a drum track with 16 sub tracks, and sequences can be 64 steps long...
The Torso T-1 is a fantastic sequencer for generating new ideas and for performance. Not for everyone, but for me at least using it has been a really interesting and enriching experience.
Being an on and off user of MPCs for decades, I've become accustomed to having my drum machine, sampler and sequencer all in one. Having said that, your video makes all the sense in the world.
Personally having multiple peices of kit with fairly capable sequencers it can be fun (and have musical results) to run sequencer A into another sequencer B while live transposing (scale modes on) to record said sequence. Can get more juice out of less capable sequencers that way too
A dedicated elektron sequencer, especially an OT, is adequate to sequence some wild wild shit. Sequencer brainpower isn’t gonna be a tough limit to deal with, they use very little in the way of resources.
When the short says that it is original sound vs a known piece of music, is that a algorithm detecting the audio? Does having narration effect this? Just wondering since the music in the background is a very well known track by a big electronic artist but the clip lists it as original sound.
It seems like the firmware will never actually be “complete” (not in a bad way). They seem to be adding new things to it seemingly like every week haha
@@DiSC0RDUKAgents of Time used it for a long time in their live setup! It’s a nice piece of equipment, but unfortunately discontinued and seems to have limited functionality over new hardware seqs

That’s true!!
i think the most cost effective might be getting a teensy and flashing the free m8 firmware on it
Venetian Snares is such a good choice for piped music!

I’m having fun with it but having no idea why something sounds the way it does, i keep losing things that sound good
Yeah the Euclidean sequencing is great
A blessing and a curse!

Thanks for watching 😊
I love the Stromberg Titelsong in the Backround.

Thanks for this addition!
Microfreak's seq/arp can send swing through CV, makes for a great module even running silently.
Thx for this addition!
Deluge's sequencer is godlike as well
🔥
If you’re just starting out, a beat step pro is a good investment.
Absolutely

Absolutely!!
I just sequence via Renoise.
Good answer
@@moogaudioshorts Haha, yeah. Renoise is great for glitchin.
Go on 😏

I would argue a dedicated sequencer delivers peak effectivity, while a combined unit delivers efficiency.
Yeah if the sequencer is integrated into the unit there will for sure be some advantages

Really not sure it’s kind of a mystery at this point
The Oxi One looks great but I’m holding off until the firmware is complete and the manual catches up with the machine.

Yeah you should look at this and look at that and also hey look over here at this one and that one....
Lol
How are people using the Squid?
The squarp?
@@moogaudioshorts no the pioneer toraiz squid sequencer...
