Seeing them with Rat back on the kit was a real ‘full circle’ moment for me. Except for the keyboards, this was the same lineup I saw at my very first Damned show (Strawberries tour). I was in attendance at this one. It was my 14th time seeing them, and at almost every one of those 14 gigs there had been some form of reshuffling with the lineup. All I know is that first impressions are the ones that stick, so this one really took me back to that first time, even if we’re all a good deal older and a bit less crazy these days. So good to have Rat back where he belongs. Now if they’d just do some new studio recordings with this lineup. Still waiting to hear something about that happening.
My wife and I were there. What a treat this was. Incredible gig. Best I’ve seen them since the 80’s (this made my 14th time seeing them. I think?). Having this lineup back in action is a real gift, no matter how long in the tooth they’ve gotten. They still blow most young (and younger) bands off the stage. This was a proper gig. To the uploader - *THANK YOU* for capturing it all so beautifully. The sound here is top notch! Seriously, this would translate well to a live album, it’s that good. Cheers from a remote corner of Northeast Washington state.
Yep, still waiting. I haven’t heard anything about the possibility of a new recording. Any form of recording would be great. Single, EP, album, compilation track… anything. They’ve been known to surprise us in the past with these kind of things. We’ll see. 🤞
The damned...still relevant and one of my fave bands ...but ya needed to see em in 1981...82...to see em going mental on the strawberries tour...good though 😊
Sounds fine ..it's hard to believe that April 77 we had them at Starwood...kicked off television gig at whiskey...moved down the street.......coming up on 48 years..oh my god
Never cared for the first two albums but from Machine Gun etiquette up to this day, one of my alltime favorite bands. Ignite, Wait for the blackout and History of the World... Great start ! Love Rat's drumming !
One thing I forgot to mention is just how *GREAT* Shadow Of Love sounded here. With this rhythm section you really can’t go wrong. No offense to Bryn, he was a great bass player in his own right… but Paul and Rat have a level of chemistry that no other bass player they ever had could match.
This really is the best lineup. I also loved Algy and the MGE era, but once Paul joined they were just pure magic. They may be a bit long in the tooth here, but they still blow away most of the younger bands.
I saw the Sensible Happy Talk solo tour in 82. Great fun gig, but I now don't remember a single thing about it. Be nice if a video turned up on youtube.
Yes indeed. This is essentially the same lineup as it was the first time I saw them (Strawberries tour ‘82), all except the keyboards. I loved Roman, but Monty is every bit as good in his own ‘unique’ way.
Don't want to watch this as off to see them at end of year, but fuck me, if they are half as good as they are here it is going to be one the best gigs I've ever seen, this is fucking dynamite!! So glad Scabies is back...
Highlight for me was 'Life Goes On' cos it didn't have Dave Vanian crooning over it. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't remember every bloody Damned song having the words 'Yeaaaaaah' and 'Woooooaaaaah' in them? Musically they are great but Dave spoils it for me, I dunno why he can't sing them straight anymore?
Yes, his vocal acrobatics of late have become quite grating. No denying that. I think it would do him a world of good to resurrect the Phantom Chords so he can get all that out of his system.
I was hesitant to make this point, so thanks for saying it! He's a great singer, but there are times when he doesn't seem willing to stop, even for a few seconds. Why does he think (e.g.) the instrumental parts of 'Wait for the Blackout' need his help? The occasional addition would be OK, but it's too much.
Wow, I just now realized they didn’t do that one, and I was at this gig. I’ve seen them every time they’ve played in Seattle, since the 80’s… and this is the only time they didn’t play Disco Man. Not sure how I went all this time without noticing that. It has always been a staple of their live show.

I was at this show, it was a bit overpriced but overall an okay time. Wish they would have played more from Damned Damned Damned and also wish the crowd wasn't full of lifeless zombies with their gigantic iphones blocking the stage from nearly every angle.
Check the description for track listing.
thanks for doing this!
It's Heat Heat Heat 😎just sayin 😁
As much as i love the rolling stones, my money would always be spent on the damned. Best rock'n'roll band. Been listening since i was a wee lad.
The ultimate rockband...!!,..the songs and sounds ,they've got it all..!!
Rats energy in em drums really adds something

Dave Vainian and captain and everybody is moving great. These guys are old! I want to be like them!
That’s ageism, age is just a number .
No vapor ahí, todo lo contrario! 😂😂@@astra-rb6sz
@@astra-rb6sz it was a compliment😊
Absolutelly KILLER!!! With Rat back on board is just another thing. That final encore with "Looking at you" was incredible. 💥💥

Dave is the new Mick. God bless!!!!!
Such a great show!
Dave vanian owns that stage, what a performer movershaker superb
My favorite lineup. They did my favorite album, Strawberries. 🤙I hope they record soon. We need this version to put something down for posterity.
@TheChadTI I hope so too. Did you hear they were? I haven't.

thank you it's like having the Damned in my living room
My pleasure.

My first Damned gig was Liverpool Royal Court in 82. One of the best. Got it on tape somewhere :)
I saw them in '81. ❤❤❤
amazing band!!!!!!! I love them!!!!!!
Saw them at No Values. They were on my bucket list and so glad I got to catch them. Wish I saw them like this though in a longer set.
Sounds fine ..it's hard to believe that April 77 we had them at Starwood...kicked off television gig at whiskey...moved down the street.......coming up on 48 years..oh my god
Ano que vem vou ver eles na turnê com o Offspring aqui no Brazil , vai ser um sonho realizado 🤘🏻😍🤘🏻
Excellent recording… well done. Saw them in Santa Cruz and it was the best I’ve seen them
That was such a great show

Una de las mejores bandas que he visto en mi puta vida!! 🤩🤩🤩
I'm so happy I got to see the Seattle concert in full! Thank you so much.
You're welcome!
Delighted that they kept some 'Darkadelic' material in the set, which prevents it from being total nostalgia.
Thank you!
You're welcome.
Always have been the best and always will be. Especially with this, the definitive line up.
This really is the best lineup. I also loved Algy and the MGE era, but once Paul joined they were just pure magic. They may be a bit long in the tooth here, but they still blow away most of the younger bands.
This is the best lineup (IMO)

This band is awesome
Finishing on MC5 number, quality gig. Add this to UK tour guys 😎👌 see you soon 😉
best lineup ever!

Fan de The Damned gracias a "Alone again or" y a que busqué y encontré en RUclips "New Rose"
Ignite into Blackout? Both openers in a row, nice!

Damnsd Damned Damned…..❤
Amazing drum solo at 1:35:15
he’s always been one of rock’s best drummers
So damn good to see Rat back on the kit. Definitely one of the all time greats. The Ginger Baker of punk.
RETOUR DANS MA JEUNESSE MERCI
Very Very Good/ would liked to have heard ` Disco Man ` though

Ohhhh lol I was standing next to you that night, wondering when you'd put your damn phone down
Oh, sorry... now at least you have the rare pleasure of viewing it from the same spot any time you want. Michael
@@ninorszagI was there too. However, I for one am very grateful you never put your phone down. 😁
Are they doing any 2 for 1 ticket deals for the Aylesbury gig in August… hope so!
Thanks so much for this. Excellent quality picture and sound. What phone/camera did you use? Also, did you use a monopod?
Just a regular camera phone. My arms were getting sore by the end of it!

I've still got some life left in me. Admittedly the zombification has progressed somewhat.
Shoes on Paul -- 😂
They’re know as Winkle pickers
I love those things!

Didn't they play 'Alone Again Or' !?!
Didn't they play 'Anything' ???!!! Jesus, easily their best song.
