Can’t you tell the palpable difference between 1988 and 1989? 1989 was a real turning point in the UK. people didn’t give a crap so much anymore but in 88, there was still a social reserve. Perhaps I’m reading too much into it as Pete and Michela had only just started the show in 88 but I’ve heard multiple times that 89 was a big milestone, the 2nd summer of love and the fall of the Berlin wall etc. and my parents got together in summer 89 also. ride on time was no.1! There was definitely a shift between June 1988 and June 1989!

this doesnt look anything like a hacienda crowd in 89 to me. it looks like a rent a crowd for the hitman show. i dont recall all the shirt and tie lot in there. nor the big hair do's
Boys own (Andrew Weatherall) did an article about the different types of clubbers at the Hacienda, one was the jazz kids who dressed up in shirt and tie/suits etc. There was more of this pre-1989. This was also very early on in January 1989, so it probably was transitioning to baggy - you see a few who look like typical hacienda ravers like the lad in the dungarees on the podium, however I'm sure a few came down for Hitman and her like you said.
@nobbystyles4807 Agreed, we didn't go as regulars to that H&H night at Hac, full of TV-hungry imposters...They just couldn't televise what we got upto in there though😁😁
Happy memories 😊 hacienda club footage is great and captures the time. Doesn’t feel that old, until you see you adverts!

I heard a rumour Micheala & Pete didn't really get on because he used to brag about his wealth to Micheala. Whether that was true I don't know
