For me it was all about the gearbox. I have far more faith in durability and comfort knowing that the latest Seltos has a traditional 8 speed auto rather than the DCT or the CVT. So I went and bought one, but alas, the waiting time for availability is 10 months. The car it is replacing is an all black Holden Calais V Sedan with a 6.0L V8. Such a beautiful and relaxing car to drive. Time has taken its toll and after 13 years time for a much more economical car that will allow me to do some light off-roading. Now looking forward to delivery.
I hope you had a chance to check out new KONA from Hyundai. This could be a great option for you.
I am also interested in buying automatic. Why do you think traditional is better than DCT or CVT?
@@SarveshNaik5 I own a V8 powered Calais sedan and it still has the original automatic gearbox. The car is 13 years old. This type of automatic gearbox can take a lot of punishment. The CVT overheats and of that steel belt breaks, the owner is up for thousands to replace it.

What level is the seltos being shown?
Feature wise, newer one is better without a doubt and MORE expensive! So, to be practical, I would prefer the older one, which is affordable and still looking amazing ☺️

I like so many things about the new facelifted model...I just wish the tires had more "meat" to the sidewalls, like maybe go with a 17 inch wheel with a 60 series tire.
Agreed. Sad part is that many ppl want bigger wheels for the look and it's one of the biggest factor of perceiving a car's design - professionals say - and manufacturers can't ignore that point :'(

I know.. for indian.. they are going for fancy showing-off features rather than safety features.. they surely would go for 1airbag with panoramic sunroof rather than 7airbags without sunroof.. and Japanese car companies have read these indians wish and doing good selling.. very profitable customers
Yes, looks are great, but what about the Engine and more importantly, the new 8 speed transmissions? Did they work out what was wrong with the 7 speed dual clutch's in the new automatics?

Also, I saw another video on RUclips on the 2024 Seltos - but the car had a traditional stick shift. But the one is your video - there is NO Stick shift. I'm confused...Which one is the USA getting? Thank you!
A few other viewers are telling me that overseas market isn’t getting the rotary type shifter just yet. The model year could be different from a country to another, but the blue design will soon be available around the globe. Thanks for finding me 😃

I haven't had the chance to drive it in the night, unfortunately, but guesstimating, it wouldn't differ much from the outgoing one. In other words, both would be great.

There probably won't be a diesel on Seltos no more.
Wonder why Kia would introduce this newest look 2024 model...when here in the US we don't even find enough 23 models. I was on the verge of finding a 23 but now I will wait however long it takes to get a turbo 24. Maybe the car pricing will get back to normal by the time the 24 is available in the states.
One of the funny way of labeling the car here in Korea. This actually is 2024 Seltos in Korea, look up 2023. You'd see the outgoing one.
we have the non face lifted model of the seltos and i just wanna ask if its normal that the doors gets unlocked when you try to open the second time especially at the back since we have a toddler seated at the back. also the aircon vents sometimes turns off/ open after a few minutes of riding.
Pretty sure you can change the unlock and A/C in your settings. Hope your dealer(ship) could give you a precise answer to that.

Since 2020 I've been keeping an eye on the Seltos. When ever I see one I ask myself, is that a Rave or an Escape? The face-lift wasn't enough to persuade me to buy one. Like the 2021 Soul Turbo, the heads up display seems very gimmicky. Is the new version available in Undercover Green? I'd rather have a Soul EX in AWD, Undercover Green, Nightfall Edition.
Color names could differ to a country to another, as well as the availability. The combiner type HUD come use an improvement, but definitely delivers its purpose.
What about the sun and moon roof ?? Did they add panoramic roof or is it the same as old ? If they have changed now then it's good because the car will be more roomy as creta
No panoramic, just a regular sunroof.

Is the rear turn signals lights led or analog?
Analog at least on this trim.
Honestly I like the newer ones front end but the older ones rear. I like either interior but it is nice they added a power tailgate. Wish they didn't use the pop up HUD though. Lastly from what I understand the new 8 speed auto ( which I thought was sluggish and refused to downshift in my '17 Cadenza ) makes the newer seltos slower despite more horsepower than the older seltos.
DCT definitely gives that clean shift sensation as well as response, but wasn't quite meant to be for a daily/city driver it seems. Many complained about the previous 7 spd dry DCT, and honestly I also think that this 8spd auto suits Seltos the best. Not much of speed difference that one may notice though.
@@CarSceneKorea my son has a 2021 forte GT ( it actually has the red circle around the wheel badges like the seltos sx ) with the gt1 package and the one thing he now hates after a year is the 7 speed DCT.
That's right! I missed Forte GT hence no review, missed that! 7 spd DCT is quite the pita from time to time, but it definitely has its pros over other transmissions. However, I'd take 8 spd auto for Seltos any time.
@@CarSceneKorea we had a DCT Cerato GT for 2 years, no issues at all with the DCT - people who complain about them ( mostly seems to be yank test drivers ) just do not seem to understand how to use them properly ....and we just traded it for a Seltos with the same engine and 7 speed DCT - it's even better than the Cerato's DCT - AND the seltos's engine power redesign ( with more torque lower down ) is quite an improvement from the driveability and passing perspective - you dont have to rev it to get the power...all in all very well done Kia. Those testers who reckon the DCT is jerky and or clunky - who knows what they are doing wrong, as ours is silky smooth.
The ideal driver for dry 7spd DCT. You'd be getting the most out of the transmission, so did I 😉 And I've mentioned it here and there, but I love my 7spd dry DCT as well.
Any specifications for the base model. Not the top of the line. I heard it does not get gear shift dial. Still the same old shifter.
That is indeed true. The base model doesn't get Shift By Wire, but a good-old traditional gear shifter.

Nope, this is more like a mid-trim. There's Gravity trim that gets a bit more fancier. You can find detail about those in my other Seltos videos.

Can You confirm if the same Features on the Seltos SX sold in Korea are the Same as the Seltos SX Sold in America? Heads up display Heated Rear seats Passenger power seat and 360° camera are not listed in America According to a Kia Salesman I'm in touch with.
Your sales rep would have the most precise info to what you're getting where you are. Trim names vary and even options within differ from a country to another.

Projector headlights over LEDs? Is there a particular reason for that? LEDs are brighter, long-lasting, etc. you'd probably know this.
@@CarSceneKorea these leds throw is not that great and it’s very difficult when u encounter pitch dark patches. Also these LEDs cannot be upgraded. The light throw of seltos is simply not enough.
@@nikhilrane90 Got it. You have far more choice with aftermarket light bulbs on projectors, but here in Korea, it's really strict and mostly illegal changing headlights, so LEDs are safest bet.
@@CarSceneKorea wish Kia had something like booster lights which increased its throw at least when it sensed the road ahead was pitch dark. In this way you won’t be blinding the oncoming traffic
So, going back to the question, it should not be impossible to do. The best would be that it's a plug&play, but I doubt it. I looked up, it's not. But can be done with minor works with wiring and getting the right connectors, that's it.

Depends on countries, but usually takes about 6 months to a year after its release in Korea for most.

I too have kia seltos but i hated few things :
*Poor night visibility
*Poor quality of exterior plastic trim mine started fading in 2-3 months despite being parked in garage I guess they didn't added much UV Protectant
*stiffer suspension compared to it's competitor Creta
Overall I have a love hate relationship with my car 😂

Bro several people from my country India are telling that the seltos got 2 star rating. That is true but misleading. Firstly, the test was done in 2020, when there were no disc brakes as standard and 4 airbags as standard. Secondly, the test done was of the base model (the one with projector headlamps), but the top model will definitely score atleast 5 stars as the Australian kua seltos got 5 stars in ancap and is the same price as the top model in our country. Thirdly, the base model is priced at just about 13,000 dollars whereas in Korea it's much more than that.
Trims and options do vary from a country to another indeed.
I'd prefer the old model for design because that extended headlights on the new model looks like its floating and seems out of place. And on the back the side tail lights are so down that it becomes awfully ugly. But for features i like the newer model.

I thought so too, but then I saw one at night. The lights are awful, and that used to be one of the Seltos’ many strengths. However, the interior is definitely fantastic in the 2024.
