I just love President Bukele. He’s the role model for zero tolerance of criminals taking over one’s country.
Oh puleez! He cut deals with the top leaders bribing them for votes in exchange for their freedom. Now those gang bangers have spread to the neighboring countries where they’re wreaking havoc. Some have even made it to the USA. He’s built a mega prison but no schools & hospitals in disrepair. He’s a freaking dictator. His words, not mine.
Oh it is so much more than that . . .
The program they have put in place is incredibly amazing . . . an incentive based self-improvement program - education, learning trades, sewing, knitting, mechanical, carpentry, preparing food, preserving food, gardening . . . each step that you achieve you get more freedoms to select what interests you or that you are good at, not only reform but transform lives of inmates, communities & families by teaching HOW to give back to society, to participate in it & achieve, be proud of yourself.
So many young people had no choice but to join a gang - by hook or by crook - each gang they arrested, prosecuted went through these programs . . . so many desired to learn & achieve, to feel useful & even these people CHOSE to remain at the facilities to teach & help other inmates to overcome their anger or guilt to become a better person.
ONLY the ones who completely retaliate & resist in every way, who remain aggressive & violent - go to that ONE facility to be housed with "like-minded" individuals.
A GREAT video on all this - every nation in the world could learn from this example of success.
